The Geely E2 has sold over a million units in two years and aims to become one of Europe’s most popular electric cars.

While European brands seek a way to sell electric cars at reasonable prices in large volumes, Geely already has a model that has generated a lot of attention. The E2 had an outstanding October in Spain, becoming the third most registered model of the month. This figure may be influenced by factors such as it being a new car with many units registered for dealerships, but it is achieving impact and sales volume that far exceed initial hype.

The Geely E2, which we got to test a few weeks ago, combines compact dimensions, a rounded and pleasing design, ample interior space, and a competitive price. This offering has found strong demand in its home country and is now beginning to replicate that success outside its borders.

The Geely E2 arrives in Spain with a range of up to 345 km and a competitive price

According to a statement released by the manufacturer, the Geely E2 has sold over one million units worldwide in just two years. It was launched on October 9, 2024, and the brand marks this milestone at the beginning of October 2026. This figure underscores the rapid growth of a model already available in more than 30 markets.

Most of its success has been achieved in China. In 2025, it sold 465,775 units, making it the best-selling car in the Chinese market. Its international expansion is now adding new markets, including a particularly interesting opportunity in Europe, where it enters a segment increasingly contested by models such as the Renault 5, Citroën ë-C3, and BYD Dolphin Surf, among many others.

A compact electric car with strong credentials for Europe

The Geely E2 is 4.14 meters long, 1.81 meters wide, and 1.58 meters tall, with a wheelbase of 2.65 meters. Its five-door body and rounded shapes aim to appeal to a broad audience without relying on a particularly aggressive design. In terms of size, it falls between larger SUVs and smaller compact cars, making it an interesting option for those who need a single vehicle for everyday use.

Space efficiency is one of its main strengths. It features a 375-liter rear trunk, along with an additional 70-liter front trunk, which is uncommon among its direct competitors. The interior includes a central multimedia screen, digital instrumentation, and connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Depending on the trim level, it may also come equipped with heated front seats and steering wheel, a panoramic camera, and an electric tailgate.

In Spain, prices start at 20,280 euros for the entry-level version, 24,990 euros for the mid-range model with a 47 kWh battery, while the most equipped model costs 27,495 euros. These are prices before any discounts or promotions, as usual.

These are quite competitive figures for a fully electric vehicle, which will undoubtedly make things very difficult for models like the Renault 5, Citroen e-C3, and others, forcing them to step up their game if they don’t want to see the E2 also dominate Europe.
