The Fiat Topolino Dolcevita returns with a major update: it now has doors while retaining its low price.
The Fiat Topolino Dolcevita returns to the lineup with an update that significantly changes its design approach. This small electric quadricycle retains the canvas roof that allows driving outdoors, but now it features conventional doors, moving away from the open configuration and side straps of the original version.
The change may seem minor, but it makes the Topolino much more practical for everyday use, especially when rain occurs or when more protection is needed. The Dolcevita thus becomes a more practical alternative without sacrificing the casual style that has always characterized this small Fiat vehicle.
The Fiat Topolino entered the market at the end of 2023 as part of the family of electric four-wheelers developed alongside the Citroën Ami and the Opel Rocks. The lineup initially featured a closed-body version and the Topolino Dolcevita, which opted for a canvas roof and an open-sided layout inspired by small beach vehicles.
The first Dolcevita version was discontinued in early 2026, though Fiat revived the concept in the limited-edition Topolino Vilebrequin. This version introduced a layout with doors and a canvas roof, a solution that is now part of the standard lineup with the new Dolcevita.
A more complete Topolino, but still urban
The new Fiat Topolino Dolcevita retains the model’s signature Verde Vita color, combining this shade for the body with a beige-colored roof canvas. The design is essentially the same as previous versions, but it features important upgrades in the form of side doors and foldable windows, which significantly improve protection from wind and rain.
There are no major changes inside. The Topolino remains an extremely simple vehicle, with two seats and very basic equipment, although newer models come equipped with a 5.7-inch digital dashboard, up from the 3.5 inches used in the first version of the model. Fiat also maintains its focus on maximum simplicity for urban use.
The mechanical aspects remain unchanged as well. The Fiat Topolino is electric, powered by a 6 kW motor, equivalent to about 8.2 horsepower. Its top speed is limited to 45 km/h, as required for its classification as a light quadricycle, while the advertised range is 75 kilometers. The battery can be fully charged at a standard household outlet in less than four hours.
As an interesting fact, on the streets of Milan I’ve seen many Topolinos being charged at public AC outlets, using a Schuko adapter to Type 2. This way, those who don’t have a garage space or need an intermediate charge can also do so. Of course, the customer has to find the adapter on their own.
Its compact size remains one of its main advantages. The Topolino is about 2.53 meters long, making it clearly designed for urban driving, narrow streets, and tight maneuvers where a conventional car is much less convenient. Additionally, its approval allows driving it from the age of 15 with an AM license, so a B license is not required.
The renewal of the Dolcevita comes at a time when Fiat is significantly expanding the Topolino lineup. To the standard model have been added the Topolino Corallo, with its striking orange color and new dashboard, and the Topolino Sport, which is aesthetically inspired by the classic Fiat 500 Sport. To these are added the limited edition Topolino Vilebrequin, which is much more exclusive and comes at a higher price.
Regarding price, the Topolino currently starts at 9,990 euros, while the new Dolcevita is priced at 10,490 euros. The Sport model goes up to 11,490 euros, and the limited edition Vilebrequin reaches 13,490 euros. Fiat Spain is also offering a specific promotion for the Dolcevita that allows customers to purchase it for 9,490 euros, so it’s important to distinguish between the regular price and current promotional offers.
