The Dacia Hipster will be launched in 2027 at a price of 11,000 euros.

The Dacia Hipster will ultimately not be manufactured in Morocco but in China. According to the latest report by the British publication Autocar, production of this electric quadricycle is set to begin next year. It will fall under the L7e category (heavy quads), allowing it to reach a top speed of 90 km/h.

Its four-seater interior will make it a rare model in this category. Its main competitor will be the FIAT Multiplina, which sits one tier above the already well-known Topolino. The Topolino is a two-seater vehicle competing in the L6e category (light quads), with a speed limit of 45 km/h. Thus, the Hipster and Multiplina will offer much more practical and versatile options.

The target price for the Hipster will be around 9,500 pounds (11,000 euros at the current exchange rate), which is significantly lower than that of the Spring, a fully legitimate model. It’s worth noting that the Shiyan plant where it will be produced is the same one that manufactured the first generation of Spring, which stopped production in July of this year.

Frank Marotte, Dacia’s senior vice president for global sales, marketing, and operations, recently said, “We are working on a plan with the other two shareholders of the joint venture (Dongfeng and Nissan) to ensure the plant continues operating. Renault Group wants to keep this manufacturing facility, which has an annual production capacity of 45,000 vehicles for the group, for two main reasons: its competitive production costs and its innovation capabilities.”

The Dacia Hipster will be 3 meters long

To reduce costs, the Hipster might reuse some components from the previous Spring model. In any case, its maximum weight should be 450 kg without including the battery, while its power will be limited to 20 HP. A L6e variant with two seats instead of four is also under consideration for launch.

Some sources indicate that the battery will have a capacity of 15 kWh, meaning it will be a vehicle designed for primarily urban use. Its three-door body will be only about 3 meters long, similar to the 1957 FIAT Nuova 500 or the 1959 Austin Mini. However, it will be a relatively tall model (approximately 1.50 meters).

Dacia Hipster Concept

Dacia recently filed a series of patents indicating that the production version will be very similar to the 2025 concept car. The images show changes such as a new window opening system, with windows now operating as slats, and smaller wheels. Both the front end and B-pillar are painted in contrasting colors. Other notable changes include updated headlights, a new license plate area, and a redesigned trunk lid.
