The Audi A6 e-tron sets a record by driving 1338 km without stopping to charge

The records for efficiency and range in electric cars are becoming popular, with Volkswagen Group being one of the manufacturers most actively leveraging them to promote its electric models. In recent days, vehicles like the Skoda Peaq and Volkswagen ID. Buzz have made headlines for completing long-distance trips (in the case of the van, it was a round-the-world journey!).
Now, the German conglomerate has added another record to its tally after an Audi A6 e-tron driven by rally driver Miko Marczyk covered a total distance of 1338 km on a single charge. The average consumption was just 7.09 kWh/100 km, indicating that the average speed of the journey was likely very low.
The four-ring logo indicates that the car was driven in normal traffic, but it does not specify the average speed during the journey. The ambient temperature was 15 °C, and the vehicle was in its fully standard configuration. With this achievement, the Audi A6 e-tron has surpassed the Lucid Air, which held the previous record (1,205 km).
The trip started in Zakopane (Poland) and reached its midpoint in Hel (Poland), where the car turned around and retraced the same route. “For this record attempt, I drove the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance. The car delivers 367 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. Its battery has a net capacity of 94.9 kWh, along with an exceptionally low coefficient of drag. It has tremendous potential. Even for me, a result of 1,338 kilometers was a pleasant surprise,” says Marczyk.

The Audi A6 e-tron achieves a WLTP range of up to 777 km
"I believe the electric vehicle technology developed over many years by Volkswagen Group is among the best in the world. For decades, the Group’s combustion engines led their respective segments. Today, its electric propulsion technology is also at the forefront of the industry, and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to demonstrate its potential."
Audi states that this record was made possible by the A6 e-tron’s excellent aerodynamics, as around 40% of the model’s energy consumption under the WLTP cycle is due to aerodynamic resistance. The sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.21, making it the most aerodynamically efficient Audi ever produced. Its WLTP range of up to 777 km is a result of its high efficiency.

Marczyk offers several tips for maximizing the range of an electric car: getting familiar with the vehicle (driving modes, behavior in different situations, etc.), making the most of regenerative braking, checking tire pressure to reduce rolling resistance, and driving smoothly by avoiding unnecessary acceleration and sudden braking.
