ECOdolomitesGT, travel by electric train only on October 16

ECOdolomitesGT returns to the Dolomites, an electric road rally focused on fuel efficiency and suitable for road-legal electric vehicles, competing in two championships: the International FIA ecoRally Cup and the Italian ACI-Sport Alternative Energy Championship. The event will take place at the summit from October 16th to 18th, 2026.
The final stage in the Dolomites after 11 races from Spain to China
The international championship – featuring 11 competitions in 2026 across Spain, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Slovenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Great Britain, China, and Italy – concludes right in the Dolomites, determining its winners.

The start and finish points of the ECOdolomitesGT – organized by the Automobile Club Trento in partnership with RaceBioConcept BioDrive Academy (GeneralBioConcept PLUS Srl) and supported by ECOmove & LETSmove – are all located in Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Trentino. From here, the competing cars head to picturesque areas in the Dolomites of Trentino and Veneto, crossing various passes. Among the locations visited are Predazzo (TN), Moena (TN), Agordo (BL), as well as all the towns in the Primiero area, San Martino di Castrozza, Vanoi, and Mis, with the Pale di San Martino dominating the landscape.

Vehicles approved for normal road use can participate in this competition. Registrations are open until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 29 (for more information, visit www.ECOdolomitesGT.org). Participation is open to everyone: drivers who enjoy regularity racing as well as owners of electric cars who wish to test their vehicles. Each team must consist of two people with driving licenses and a valid ACI-Sport/FIA regularity racing license.
This latter document can be obtained—along with a valid medical certificate for non-competitive sports activities—at ACI offices or on-site at registration, thanks to a service provided by the organizers (through the Automobile Club Trento and the ACI “Lavalsugana” office).
Car Charging and Schedule
Electric vehicles will be charged using a Charge Park powered by renewable electricity supplied by Primiero Energia. This facility has been set up in the Fiera di Primiero area, on Via Fiume, opposite the Municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza.

The event consists of an afternoon of technical and sporting checks (during which cars, race documents, and driver registration forms will be inspected, with the required graphics to be provided for placement on the cars before departure), a race day on Friday, during which teams will cover approximately 150 km, another race day on Saturday (on a route of just over 250 km), and a final race morning on Sunday, covering about another 120 km.

The logistical hub of the event is the EDGT Charge-Park in Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Via Fiume (Piazza del Municipio). Here, administrative and technical pre-race checks take place from 09:00 to 13:00 on Friday, October 16, with the first car departing at 16:00.

The finish line is scheduled for Sunday, October 18th, starting at 12 PM (first car), still in the center of Frazione Fiera di Primiero, near the EDGT Charge-Park.
Race with cars having at least 300 km of range
“The Automobile Club d’Italia is increasingly focused on becoming an organization dedicated to mobility in general, and sustainable mobility in particular. That’s why an initiative like ECoDolomitesGT continues to attract the attention of the Automobile Club di Trento.” These are the words of Fiorenzo Dalmeri, president of ACI Trento.

Mario Montanucci Pignatelli, coordinator of the Organizing Committee and team leader of the RaceBioConcept Team – BioDrive Academy (GeneralBioConcept PLUS Srl), the original concept entity as well as co-organizer alongside ECOmove & LetsMove, said: “To participate in the ECoDolomitesGT 2026, you just need a ‘road legal’ electric vehicle built after January 1, 2020, capable of covering at least 300 kilometers of mountain driving with a reasonable safety margin without the need for intermediate charging. There will be 4 sectors divided into three stages totaling about 530 kilometers, with a maximum distance of around 260 kilometers between charges for electric vehicles.”
TEST – Renault 4: perfect balance, European styling
There are about twenty special stages called “Regularity & Consumption Stages,” covering a total distance of roughly 320 kilometers. During these stages, “drivers must strive to maintain average speeds set by regulations, measured in tenths of a second. They also need to minimize fuel consumption, as tracked via telemetry that records changes in ‘State Of Charge’ in tenths of a percent. A specific formula is used, taking into account each car’s WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) fuel consumption cycle, ensuring that all teams compete on equal terms, regardless of the vehicle they drive.”
