Easelink lists Luxshare as the Chinese licensee.

Austrian company Easelink announces Luxshare as its first technology licensing partner from China. The two firms have agreed through a contract to pursue the industrialization and market introduction of the automated conductive charging solution Matrix Charging in China.

Easelink is an Austrian company based in Graz that has developed a special charging solution for electric vehicles: In the system created by Easelink, the vehicle is placed with a retrofitted charging plate on its undercarriage above a charging pad mounted on the ground—similar to induction charging. However, electricity is not transmitted wirelessly (with certain losses) here; instead, the connector mounted on the car descends onto the ground plate, establishing a conductive connection with significantly lower losses.
After years of development and testing, the system is now ready for commercialization — with China being one of the most lucrative target markets for Easelink. The Austrians aim to enter this market through a licensing partnership, as Easelink states: “The specific requirements of the Chinese automotive market for industrializing and deploying Matrix Charging demand a local-for-local approach.” By partnering with Luxshare, they gain “a dedicated licensee for China.” This represents another step in their strategy to establish licensing and industrialization partners for the Matrix Charging system in all key automotive markets.
According to Easelink, both companies are also already working on initial OEM projects in China to integrate the technology into future vehicle platforms.
"Automated charging is gaining increasing importance in China, driven by advancements in autonomous driving and the growing demand for convenience features that simplify charging for electric vehicle drivers," Easelink states in a press release sent to us via email. In China, the system is marketed as Luxshare Matrix Charging.
Luxshare is, according to Easelink, a player with strong local industrialization capabilities. The Austrians themselves also intend to expand their team in China "to closely support technical and project-related collaboration with Luxshare and Chinese OEMs."
Harvey Yuan, General Manager at Luxshare, commented: “We see great potential in our partnership with Easelink, which enables us to reach new customer segments[…]. Additionally, we are aware of the crucial role that standardizing new interfaces plays, and therefore we are actively involved in the ‘Matrix Charging Interest Group’ to drive standardization efforts that ensure interoperability and broad market acceptance.” The aforementioned group, abbreviated as MCIG, is an alliance founded at the end of 2025 by industry representatives aiming to advance the standardization of the Easelink system. Founding members include notable companies such as Audi, Nissan, and Voyah, in addition to the developer itself.
Hermann Stockinger, founder and CEO of Easelink, also welcomed the new licensing partnership: “We are very pleased to collaborate with a globally significant company like Luxshare – a complementary partner with strong engineering expertise. Together, we will focus on serving customers locally in China and integrating Matrix Charging into existing automotive industry value chains. This partnership is a significant milestone for our growing presence in China and a key component of our mission to establish the global industry standard for automated charging.”
In the summer, Stockinger already introduced the German supplier SEG Automotive as a licensing partner. In addition to initial OEM projects, SEG Automotive plans to incorporate the Easelink technology into its own product portfolio on a licensing basis. This partner also joined the Matrix Charging Interest Group back in the summer.
SEG Automotive is an international automotive supplier that emerged in 2018 from Bosch’s starter and generator business unit and now belongs to the Chinese ZMJ Group. The company is headquartered in Stuttgart and specializes in drive and electrification components.
