Tesla’s double success in Europe, Model Y exceeds 40,000 units sold

Even without any new models, Elon Musk’s company continues to achieve impressive sales figures. In a European market that remains on the rise—up 10% compared to September 2025 with 1.34 million registrations—Tesla remains the true driving force. With 40,971 units sold, the Model Y is the best-selling car across all powertrains, surpassing well-known and cheaper models like the VW Golf and Dacia Sandero. Even more impressive is the performance of the Model 3, which ranks second with 25,057 registrations. Its growth compared to 2025 is 105.7%, an impressive figure for a car that is now nearly 10 years old. And Tesla’s success isn’t limited to just one month—over the first 9 months of 2026 as well, the Model Y was the best-selling car in Europe overall, with 167,369 registrations (+51.8%). It is followed by the Dacia Sandero (162,969) and the Golf (151,334).

Musk Now Considers Merging the Auto Company with Space X

Meanwhile, news comes from the United States that Tesla could be absorbed by Space X as part of Elon Musk’s empire. The merger between the two companies, which has been rumored on Wall Street for months, has evolved beyond mere speculation. Both firms have established independent committees to examine the idea. Musk himself confirmed this during SpaceX’s quarterly results presentation, saying, “I think it would be a good idea.” He added, however, that no deal has been reached yet and the transaction might not go through. At current valuations, the two companies together are worth approximately $3.5 trillion: around $2 trillion for Space X and nearly $1.5 trillion for Tesla. It would be the largest merger ever completed.
