"After the setback, there’s the irony. I wanted to buy a second family car for my wife, so I checked to see if there were any used Leapmotor T03s available. After all, you guys named it the best electric car of the year. Back then, I missed out on the subsidies, so I decided to keep my old Micra for a while longer, even though it really needs to be replaced now. Well, I checked prices on sites like Autoscout and found plenty of listings at 14,000–15,000 euros, close to the new car’s price of 15,900 euros. Why do I talk about setbacks and irony? The setback for me was being excluded from the subsidies. The irony is that it seems some of these cars were bought by people who took advantage of the 9,000–11,000 euro government discount. And now, after using the car for a while, they’re reselling it to make a big profit. Am I wrong? Thanks for all the practical information you provide.

They couldn’t have been purchased with the incentive

Answer. They cannot be purchased with the government incentive. Why can we say that? The regulation required those who received the bonus not to resell them for two years from the date of purchase. That time has not yet passed, as things started in the summer of 2025. Unless (we’re in Italy…) someone ignores the rule and resells it before the allowed time. We took a look at T03 listings on Autoscout: in fact, most of them are new cars or cars with 0 km mileage. There are a few used ones: Stellantis itself (which imports Leapmotor) in Turin sells one from July 2025 with 8,855 km at 13,900 euros. Another Piedmontese dealership sells one that is practically new (25 km) for 12,990 euros. The real problem is that it’s a too recent model to have many used options available. And anyway, once the two-year period mentioned above is over, there will be those who take advantage of selling the car they bought.

With a bonus, we can earn even more. It’s not just Leapmotor.
