Dodge, or the electric Charger Daytona

For years, the formula for the Dodge Charger was simple: a large body, plenty of power, and above all, a powerful internal combustion engine. However, the latest generation broke away from one of its most important traditions. Alongside the gasoline-powered Charger Sixpack, there’s now a fully electric Charger Daytona.

Dodge opened orders for the European market on June 10, 2026. The new Charger is available here in both two-door and four-door versions, with customers able to choose between an electric drive and a 3-liter, six-cylinder gasoline engine. The first European deliveries are scheduled for September 2026.

Dodge Charger Daytona has up to 670 HP

The electric lineup includes two variants. The Charger Daytona R/T delivers a maximum of 536 HP, while the Scat Pack offers 670 HP and 850 Nm of torque. In both cases, power is standardly sent to all wheels.

The most interesting option is obviously the Scat Pack. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The vehicle also features Launch Control and Line Lock, a function that allows locking the front wheels and heating the rear tires before departure. Thus, the electric Charger retains some of the “fun features” typical of classic muscle cars.

Dodge equipped it with two electric motors, one at each axle. The rear motor works in conjunction with a limited-slip mechanical differential. The PowerShot feature allows for a temporary increase in available power by an additional 40 horsepower.

The battery has over 100 kWh

Beneath the floor lies a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 100.5 kWh. It uses nickel-cobalt-aluminum chemistry and consists of 13 modules. The battery itself weighs around 615 kg.

Dodge’s European website states that the Daytona Scat Pack has a range of over 426 km. This is a decent figure, but certainly not record-breaking for a battery exceeding 100 kWh. However, the charger was designed primarily with performance and driving pleasure in mind, rather than minimizing energy consumption.

The electrical system operates at a voltage of around 400 V. This also shows that the Daytona does not belong to the latest generation of electric vehicles using 800 V systems and extremely short charging times. In a powerful EV with over 100 kWh of battery capacity, this could be one of its weaknesses.

Enormous even by European standards

The Daytona charger is not a compact sports coupe. It is about 525 cm long, 203 cm wide without mirrors, and has a wheelbase of 308 cm. The R/T model weighs around 2585 kg, while the more powerful Scat Pack is even heavier.

Stylistically, the Dodge closely echoes the Chargers from the late 1960s. Its distinctive front features a R-Wing design, which is a channel that directs air through the front part of the body. Instead of a traditional exhaust system, the Daytona comes equipped with a Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust – a sound-generating system designed to partially replace the sound of a combustion engine.

The Dodge Charger Daytona is now officially available in Europe

Until now, most Chargers reached our country through private imports from the US or Canada. Now, the new generation can be purchased through the official European channel.

KWA is responsible for distributing Dodge in Europe, with the vehicles sold through a network of authorized partners. In Poland, these locations are currently found in Warsaw, Józefów, Pruszków, Poznań, Białystok, Chorzów, and Długołęka near Wrocław.

For example, Edmark Auto in Warsaw offers the new Charger as part of its official lineup, while Power Outlet in Józefów lists the Charger Daytona among available Dodge models. Vehicles from European distribution are homologated to EU standards and come with network-based service support.

How much does the Dodge Charger Daytona cost in Poland?

The situation here is less clear. Dodge has not yet released another nationwide pricing list for the Charger Daytona in zlotys. The official European range for the new Charger starts at 66,000 euros, which at the exchange rate as of September 16 amounts to around 287,000 zlotys. It should be noted, however, that this is the starting price for the entire Charger range, not the confirmed Polish price for the 670-horsepower Daytona Scat Pack.

Polish dealers are already accepting orders, but a specific quote must be obtained directly at the dealership. For comparison, official dealer Edmark priced the gasoline-powered Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack at 413,900 zlotys for the two-door version and 424,900 zlotys for the four-door liftback.

Production takes place in Canada

Although the Charger is one of the symbols of American automotive industry, the new generation is manufactured in Canada. The car is assembled at Stellantis’ factory in Windsor, Ontario.

The facility has been thoroughly rebuilt for the STLA Large platform and the production of vehicles with various powertrains. Alongside the electric Charger Daytona, gasoline-powered Chargers SIXPACK and Chrysler minivans are also produced there.

Who exactly does the Charger Daytona compete with?

A direct rival is hard to identify, as the electric muscle car is essentially a separate category.

In terms of performance, the Daytona Scat Pack competes with cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Kia EV6 GT, and much more expensive electric sports cars such as the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. None of them, however, attempt to emulate the character of a classic American muscle car as consistently as it does.

And this is where Dodge’s greatest advantage lies. The Daytona isn’t known for its range, it lacks an 800 V power system, and it weighs around 2.6 tons. But it is a massive, impressive vehicle with up to 670 horsepower, making it easy to distinguish from anything else on European roads.

The most serious competitor might actually be in the same showroom. The new Charger SIXPACK features a 3-liter R6 twin-turbo engine, producing 550 horsepower, and also uses AWD. For a customer who considers the sound of a real engine an essential part of a Charger, the gasoline version might be a tough argument against the Daytona.

Dodge Charger Daytona – Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

Performance. The Daytona R/T produces 536 horsepower, while the Scat Pack delivers up to 670 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The more powerful version can reach 100 km/h in around 3.4 seconds, making it faster than most older gasoline-powered Chargers.

AWD is standard. Two engines ensure excellent traction, with the rear engine featuring a limited-slip differential. In appropriate modes, the car can also engage the rear axle more aggressively.

Appearance and Character. Despite its electric powertrain, the Charger isn’t a generic aerodynamic sedan. It has a length of over 5.25 meters, a wide body, and a design heavily inspired by the Chargers from the late 1960s.

Spacious Utility. It’s a five-seater liftback with a large rear hatch and a trunk capacity of 645 liters. Both two-door and four-door body styles are available.

Finally, official sales in Europe. There’s no need to rely solely on private imports from the US. KWA is Dodge’s official European importer, providing homologation, warranty, parts, and maintenance services. Several authorized sales outlets are currently operating in Poland, including in Warsaw, Józefów, Pruszków, Poznań, Białystok, Chorzów, and Długołęka.

Weaknesses

Huge weight. The Daytona R/T alone weighs around 2585 kg, while the Scat Pack approached 2.7 tons in tests. This is quite heavy even for a powerful electric vehicle, and it’s difficult to fully compensate for this weight in corners.

Charging falls short compared to the latest EVs. The architecture uses 400 V, with a maximum fast-charging power of about 183 kW. With a battery capacity exceeding 100 kWh gross, this isn’t particularly impressive. Tests by InsideEVs also showed that achieving the advertised charging times isn’t always easy.

The Scat Pack’s range is not impressive. Dodge’s European website claims over 426 km, but independent tests on more powerful versions showed significantly lower ranges when driving fast. High power and very wide tires come at a cost.

Dimensions. At 525 cm in length and over 203 cm wide without mirrors, it’s too large for European parking lots and city centers. The turning radius exceeds 6 meters.

The artificial sound might be divisive. The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust is intended to partially replace the emotions associated with a V8. Some see it as an interesting idea, while others view it as a gimmick that further highlights the absence of a HEMI engine under the hood.

Opportunities

There is almost no direct competition. There are virtually no electric cars in the style of classic American muscle cars. The Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, or Audi e-tron GT are fast, but they represent a completely different style and philosophy.

It may appeal to customers who previously bought Chargers through private imports. Official European homologation, warranty, and service network eliminate many of the drawbacks associated with purchasing a car from the United States.

The niche it occupies could be its advantage. Compared to other electric SUVs, the Charger is something entirely different. For some customers, the fact that it looks like a huge American muscle car might be more important than its efficiency records.

Risks

The most dangerous competitor might be… the gasoline-powered Charger. Meanwhile, in Europe, the SIXPACK is emerging with a 3-liter R6 twin-turbo engine, producing 420 or 550 horsepower, along with standard AWD. For traditional Dodge customers, the sound of a real engine might outweigh the better performance of a BEV.

The price in Europe. The Charger range starts at 66,000 euros, but the more powerful and better equipped Daytonas will be significantly more expensive (around 400,000 zł). At such price levels, premium brands with more advanced electric technology already enter the market.

The development pace of EVs. The Daytona debuts with a large battery but features a 400 V architecture and average charging speed. With competitors rapidly shifting to 800 V systems, these specifications could become outdated relatively quickly.

The risk of being rejected by brand fans. For decades, Charger has been associated with a large engine, loud noise, and tire burning. 670 horsepower may not automatically convince customers who consider the internal combustion engine an essential part of this model’s character.
