The new Tesla Roadster features a dashboard inspired by the 80s.

The next-generation Tesla Roadster is closer to mass production than it has been in a decade. The manufacturer unveiled the sports car this month with a new design and numerous dramatic visuals — now Tesla shows off the equally eye-catching user interface.
The screen for track telemetry is filled with important information. It displays battery and engine temperatures, the aerodynamics status including the fan set to Max Grip, as well as brake and aero balance. Lap times are also recorded.

The interface features a smooth retro design with plenty of red on a black background. The short video demonstrates various vehicle functions, including exterior lighting, media controls, and settings such as individually activating the bargeboards behind the rear fenders to divert high-pressure air from the front wheels.
Drivers can switch the vents in the front hood, lower the suspension, and select specific aerodynamic settings with a touch. The animated roadster next to the settings changes accordingly to the driver’s selection.
Thruster Mode
The display also shows information about the booster and thruster system. The relevant status indicators appear at the bottom of the Track Mode screen. However, the video does not show how drivers activate the system.
With such a defining feature, it would be logical to have a dedicated startup screen when activating it. Tesla offers a version of the Roadster with cryogenic thrust nozzles for sale, which provide a five-second boost and can take up to six hours to refuel.

According to Tesla, the Roadster Thrust is capable of accelerating from 0 to 97 km/h in less than 0.9 seconds. The Roadster Rocket, available only by invitation, claims to achieve this in 0.59 seconds; Tesla also mentions a potential top speed of 531 km/h. For the production model, the company targets 344 km/h.
The long wait
Almost a decade has passed since Tesla first introduced the next-generation Roadster. The vehicle shown at the beginning of this month bears little resemblance to the original concept. The new coupe appears more angular and adopts a design language reminiscent of the Cybertruck, a style that continues into the software as well.
According to Tesla, production of the Roadster is set to begin sometime next year. However, those familiar with the company know that such timelines should be taken with caution. It is also unclear whether Tesla will first produce the performance version without a booster or the Roadster Thruster.
