The bottleneck behind the wallbox: Charging distributors as accelerators

Charging points can be installed quickly — but the energy distribution system behind them often isn’t. Elektriker Beckhoff shows how HENSEL’s ENYCHARGE charging distributors significantly shorten planning and installation times.

Whether it’s a company parking lot, fleet depot, or multi-unit building: Once multiple charging points are needed, an appropriate energy distribution system is required. Traditionally, this is planned using individual components, wired in the workshop, tested, and documented. This takes electricians days — time that is scarce when skilled workers are needed elsewhere, delaying projects.
Catalog charging distributors instead of custom builds
HENSEL promotes standardization with ENYCHARGE: 112 ready-to-install charging distributors ranging from 11 to 200 kW — for single and dual charging points, 43-kW charging points for commercial vehicles, up to 200-kW fast charging points. Fault current and overvoltage protection, networking technology, and an outdoor enclosure can be added optionally.
Each distributor is pre-assembled, wired, and tested and documented in accordance with DIN EN IEC 61439-7 — including a customizable wiring diagram, thermal analysis report, and quick guide. With proper installation, HENSEL assumes responsibility for the distributor. Selection takes about five minutes via the ENYEXPERT app or online, with ordering handled through electrical wholesalers. The distributor is ready for shipping after five business days.
Practical Example: Elektro Beckhoff
Elektro Beckhoff in Verl employs around 1,000 workers at 13 locations to undertake projects for industry, housing construction, and public clients — charging infrastructure is part of their regular operations. The team first came across ENYCHARGE in 2024, and today the solution is an integral part of their daily project work.
"What convinced me right away was the simple and logical selection principle," says David Heidemann, Project Manager for Electrical Engineering & E-Mobility. Charging points, power levels, and features such as FI protection or networking can be quickly determined; documentation and thermal certification are also provided readily.
The impact is particularly evident on construction sites. “Everything is ready for connection and has been tested. Just strip the cables, insulate them, and connect them—nothing more is needed,” explains E-Mobility technician Markus Kesselmeier. Where planning, documentation, and installation used to take two days, it now takes just one—up to 50% time savings per project.
More predictable for all stakeholders
For operators and planners, this means shorter lead times, reliable deadlines, and standard-compliant documentation that simplifies acceptance. For specialized companies, it means more capacity for new projects.
