The Denza N8 EV will make its debut on October 26. It features a 130 kWh battery and 1003 km of CLTC range in this five-seater SUV.

BYD is set to unveil the Denza N8 EV on October 26, according to local Chinese media. It is a large, five-seater luxury SUV with a 130.15 kWh battery and a range of 1,003 km in the CLTC cycle, per Denza’s own claims. Prices have not been announced yet.
Hybrid range, electric only
The N8 went on sale in China in 2023 as a large SUV available in six- and seven-seater configurations, offered only with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The electric version is said to have a range on electricity alone that matches what the PHEV model achieves with a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank combined. Denza refers to it as the “king of large five-seater fully electric vehicles.”
The second-generation Blade Battery is located under the floor, with charging supported by Flash Charging up to 1500 kW. BYD claims it can reach 10% to 70% charge in 5 minutes and 97% in 9 minutes. A simple calculation shows that 1003 km on 130.15 kWh results in approximately 13 kWh/100 km. However, the CLTC standard is much milder than WLTP, so the figures would be lower on European roads.
According to an August submission to MIIT, the drive system will come in two variants. The RWD version will have one engine delivering 320 kW (429 HP) or 370 kW (496 HP). The AWD variant features three engines on the e3 platform: 270 kW at the front and two engines of 310 kW each at the rear, for a total of 890 kW (1193 HP).
Two large displays dominate the interior. The central screen is 30 inches and spans almost the entire passenger side, while a panoramic HUD measuring 43 inches (1.1 meters) appears beneath the glass. The cabin is minimalist, featuring a three-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting. Autohome has released uncamouflaged photos of the vehicle, showing a lidar on its roof.
The N8L EV is already available for purchase
A month earlier, BYD introduced the N8L EV, a slightly longer six-seater version of its current PHEV model. The Premium variant costs 299,800 yuan (about $45,000), while the Flagship version costs 329,800 yuan ($49,000). Both come equipped with a 130.15 kWh Blade 2.0 battery and a CLTC range of up to 960 kilometers. There’s also a “208-liter, super-large intelligent trunk” in the front.

We don’t know the prices of the N8 EV, but the pricing for the N8L EV gives an idea of where negotiations will start. It’s also unclear whether any of these versions will reach Europe. We’ll find out on October 26, assuming Chinese media are correct about the date.
