The Czechs have a service for ordering taxis using Tesla TAD/FSD. The system is already available in 10 countries, but here it’s quiet and we’re just waiting.

Clever Czechs saw an opportunity for profit and launched Autodrive as part of the Liftago mobile app. It allows users to order taxis operated by Tesla’s TAD/FSD Supervised system, with human oversight of the driver at the wheel. In other words, customers can take rides in vehicles controlled by electronics at a pre-set price. Tests of the service began on October 22 in Prague and are set to last several weeks.

Autodrive is not a typical robotaxi because neither Tesla’s TAD system nor the taxis operating in Czechia via Liftago/Autodrive have approval for experiments with full autonomy. It is more of a novelty ride, allowing one to follow a predetermined route and see how Teslas perform on Czech streets—without the need to purchase a car from Musk, let alone pay for a TAD/FSD subscription. Our southern neighbors also mention that the service is more expensive than a regular taxi.

Latvia and Poland

The Tesla FSD/TAD system was approved for use in Latvia on Monday, October 26 (https://x.com/teslaeurope/status/2114667445223149619 source). The Latvian authorities decided not to wait for decisions at the EU level but to grant temporary approval based on a decision by the Dutch RDW. Previously, supervised but public software tests were approved in the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, Slovenia, Czechia, Croatia, and Slovakia. Only Slovakia and Belgium indicated that they are thoroughly testing the system before issuing a positive opinion.

Signals from across Europe suggest that Tesla began contacting the relevant officials shortly after approval by RDW in April 2026. Certain leaks indicate that the current permits are the result of officials’ openness and months of productive cooperation. In Poland, the point of contact was Artur Marciniszyn from TDT’s Vehicle Homologation Department, who had no specific substantive objections but was not particularly eager to act due to [other] “official duties” (source).

The final decision on allowing TAD/FSD in Poland rests with Agnieszka Zawadzka, who serves as the acting director of Transportowy Dozór Techniczny, as well as a longtime chief accountant and head of the Finance Department at TDT (source; source). The mention of “acting” in her position suggests that the interim director may be reluctant to make strategic decisions, especially those of a political nature [editorial speculation by Elektrowozu].
