It costs 18,640€ and features 449 horsepower, a range of 1,240 km, and a wading capacity of 600 mm: here’s Chery’s new hybrid SUV.

Chery continues to expand its lineup of electric vehicles with a new off-road-looking SUV that promises to combine long driving range with a particularly competitive price. It is the new iCaur V25, an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) that can already be reserved in China for 139,800 yuan, equivalent to around 18,640 euros at current exchange rates. Its official launch is scheduled for November 19th.
The new model joins the iCar family, internationally known as iCaur, and is positioned between the V23 and V27 models. Its specifications are impressive, delivering up to 449 horsepower, a combined range of 1,240 kilometers, and the ability to travel over 200 kilometers solely on electricity. All of this is complemented by a robust design and features designed to facilitate off-road adventures.

A 4.6-meter SUV with 600 mm of ground clearance
The iCaur V25 features a square-shaped body design with a nearly vertical front end, circular LED headlights, and very pronounced wheel arches. Its design resembles that of classic off-road vehicles, though it uses a monocoque structure and is designed as an SUV with certain capabilities for off-road driving.
Its dimensions are 4,636 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,855 mm in height, while the wheelbase measures 2,820 mm. The ground clearance is 197 mm, with a 30-degree approach angle and a 28-degree departure angle. Chery also claims a wading capacity of up to 600 mm.
Notable features include tires up to 21 inches in diameter, aluminum side skirts, and a rear door that opens sideways, featuring an external compartment of 22.7 liters. It also supports accessories specific for outdoor activities and offers a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg with the appropriate equipment.

A tech-driven interior with a 15.4-inch screen
Inside the cabin, the manufacturer combines a modern design with functional design elements. The dashboard features a central 15.4-inch touch screen with 2.5K resolution, along with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The multimedia system uses a Qualcomm QCM8538 processor and offers 5G connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Huawei HiCar.
Unlike other models that concentrate all their functions on the screen, the iCaur V25 retains physical controls beneath the multimedia system. It also features 41 object holders and allows the front seats to be fully reclined to create a resting surface. Depending on the trim level, the front seats may include heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Higher versions also offer a driver assistance system and a LiDAR sensor, resulting in a Level 2 driving system that requires constant driver supervision.
33.67 kWh battery with 1,240 kilometers of range
The main mechanical feature of the iCaur V25 is its electric system for extended range. Unlike a conventional hybrid, the propulsion comes from electric motors, while a 1.5-liter, 154 HP gasoline engine acts as a generator to supply electricity. The base version is equipped with a rear electric motor producing 248 HP and 300 Nm of torque. Above that is the all-wheel-drive variant, which features two electric motors combined to deliver 449 HP and 505 Nm of torque. In this case, it only needs 5.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

Both configurations use a 33.67 kWh LFP battery. The all-electric range is 210 kilometers in the rear-wheel drive version and 200 kilometers in the all-wheel drive version. With the gasoline generator and its 58-liter tank, the certified combined range is 1,240 kilometers and 1,210 kilometers respectively. Fast charging supports up to 90 kW, allowing the battery to go from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes, according to the announced figures.

Chery has launched four versions for the Chinese market. The iCaur V25 RWD Pro starts at 139,800 yuan, approximately 18,640 euros, while the RWD Max costs 149,800 yuan, around 19,980 euros. The all-wheel-drive variants, AWD Max+ and AWD Ultra, are priced at 163,800 and 175,800 yuan respectively, equivalent to about 21,845 and 23,445 euros. There is no current date set for its arrival in Europe, though the iCaur brand will bring it there in 2027. Therefore, an appearance on the Old Continent is likely in the near future.
