Citroën has extended the doubling of incentives for electric vehicles until December 31 of this year. Private customers will continue to receive a 3,000 euro discount from the French manufacturer, in addition to any government subsidies for purchasing electric cars. This discount applies to the purchase or leasing of new fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Depending on income and personal circumstances, the federal government’s incentives for electric vehicles can amount to up to 6,000 euros. Citroën claims that through the manufacturer’s doubling of incentives, customers could receive a total benefit of up to 12,000 euros, depending on their eligibility for subsidies.

Specifically, according to the brand, this means: “When purchasing or leasing a new electric or plug-in hybrid car, all private customers receive a Citroën and dealer subsidy of 3,000 euros. If the customer is eligible for a higher government subsidy, they will receive from Citroën the difference between the Citroën subsidy and the government subsidy, up to an additional 3,000 euros.” To qualify for this, one must submit the same documentation to the Citroën dealer at the time of signing the purchase contract as is required for the government subsidy.

“Many people view electromobility as a complex topic. Our doubling of the subsidy shows a different approach: simple to understand, accessible, and uncomplicated,” says Stefanie Becker, marketing director at Citroën Germany. In addition, they offer up to eight years of protection for selected electric vehicles.
