BYD has announced that pricing for its Ti7 SUV will start from £47,995 when UK order books open in November this year.
With initial deliveries scheduled for January 2027, BYD’s first seven-seat flagship SUV can be purchased with a £500 deposit that will be matched by an additional £500 contribution from the Chinese automotive giant.
The BYD Ti7 is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV)-only model aimed at the equivalent Land Rover Defender and other premium seven-seat rivals including the Volvo XC90, the Toyota Land Cruiser, and the Audi Q7.
BYD Ti7 range and powertrain
When on sale, the BYD Ti7 will be the first UK-bound model to come with BYD’s all-wheel-drive (AWD), DM-p (Dual Mode performance) Super Hybrid powertrain. It is also available in one trim level dubbed ‘Excellence’.
By pairing a three-motor setup with a longitudinally-mounted 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 35.6kWh battery, the Ti7 has an estimated combined range of up to 441 miles. Driving solely on electric power, the Ti7 can manage 74 miles on a single charge. In power terms, its 402bhp delivers a top speed of 118mph, while the 0-62mph run is dispatched in a healthy 4.8 seconds.
BYD Ti7 interior
Inside, the BYD Ti7 comes with leather upholstery as standard, and is finished in either black, light grey, or brown. The front and rear outer seats are heated and cooled, while tri-zone climate control allows each row of seated passengers to manage their own temperatures.

Temperature control is also extended to the in-car refrigerator and drinks warmer positioned between the driver and the passenger. As with all BYD vehicles, the forward cabin is a screen-heavy affair: A 10.25-inch sits in front of the driver, while a 15.8-inch touchscreen dominates the centre of the dashboard. An 18-speaker sound system is standard.
BYD Ti7 practicality
With all three rows of seats in place, the BYD Ti7’s boot capacity stands at 126 litres. Fold the third row, and the space expands to 970 litres. With rows two and three folded, the total capacity increases to 1,830 litres.
BYD Ti7 exterior design
With its elongated roofline and rugged, “urban box” design, the BYD Ti7 isn’t visually dissimilar to the Land Cruiser or the Defender.
The Chinese car rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, which, when paired with the chunky extended wheel arches and privacy glass from the rear doors onwards, return a purposeful aesthetic.

LED lights are standard all-round, as are door-mirror puddle lights, and BYD offers customers a choice of six exterior colours. Starlight Silver is the standard finish, while Mountain Green, Jade Green, Obsidian black, and Titanium Grey add £1,110 to the Ti7’s pricing. Matte Titanium Grey is a £2,200 option.
At home in China, the BYD Ti7 is sold as the BYD Fangchengbao 7, where it is available as a 680bhp, fully electric model with the option of an in-roof-mounted drone.
