Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) is the youngest brand in the BYD Group. It has only been around for 3 years, but during that time it has proven its worth by exceeding 500,000 units registered, all in China. Nearly half of its sales come from the FCB Ti7, a powerful SUV that is almost 5 meters long. As shown in the images, Fang Cheng Bao has begun road testing a lower-tier model, the potential Fang Cheng Bao Ti6, which will join the lineup next year and can be seen in Europe.

For international markets, the company abandons the name Fang Cheng Bao. On our continent, it sells through BYD’s premium brand, Denza. As a result, Europeans will soon be able to enjoy the first Fang Cheng Bao models, with the first one being the Denza Bao 5, China’s version of the FCB Ti5. This new model will sit between the company’s two best-selling vehicles. BYD will thus have its own Land Rover Defender, which it hopes to price very competitively.

Five-seater configuration and Defender-sized

Unlike the Ti 7, which is designed to accommodate up to seven passengers in three rows of seats, the architecture of the Ti 6 will limit its interior to a spacious five-seater configuration. Despite being in a lower size category, the images show it has a robust build and generous proportions typical of medium or large SUVs.

In terms of dimensions, according to sources, the Ti6 will measure 4.805 meters in length, 1.96 meters in width, and 1.88 meters in height, with an axle spacing of 2.81 meters. It is worth noting that it is 194 mm shorter, 35 mm narrower, and 15 mm taller than the BYD Ti 7. The aforementioned sources also mentioned that the Ti 6’s trunk will offer an impressive volume of 780 liters. However, this figure is likely the result of a measurement up to the ceiling and including the space available under the trunk’s dual floor.

Mechanical specifications: Super Hybrid DM hybrid system and Blade batteries

Although BYD has not officially released the final specifications, projections suggest it will replicate the powertrain layout of the Ti 7, offering both pure electric (BEV) variants and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options in all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive configurations. In the hybrid versions, the technical foundation will rely on the brand’s Super Hybrid DM technology.

In the Ti 7 PHEV, this configuration pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged combustion engine with three electric motors to deliver a combined power of 408 horsepower, powered by an LFP battery with a capacity of 35.6 kWh. This setup enables up to 119 kilometers of range in pure electric mode according to the WLTP testing cycle. The all-electric version is available in China with a range of 755 kilometers. It features BYD’s second-generation Blade batteries as well as new ultra-fast charging systems (Flash Charging).

Market Positioning and Price Estimate

The arrival of the Ti 6 will strengthen Fang Cheng Bao’s business strategy of offering off-road-inspired vehicles at prices significantly lower than those of its direct competitors. While the Ti 7 is priced at 179,800 yuan (around 23,000 euros at current exchange rates) in the Chinese market, the new Ti 6 is expected to bring the entry price down to around 150,000 yuan, which is approximately equivalent to 19,225 euros. This aggressive pricing strategy will serve as a catalyst for its future international expansion, where the plug-in hybrid Ti 7 already competes in markets such as the UK at 47,995 pounds, considerably lower than alternatives like the plug-in Defender 110.
