Fang Cheng Bao has reached 600,000 cumulative sales, with the Tai 7 hitting the 300,000 milestone in October.

Formula S series deliveries fell short of expectations in October. The brand plans to ramp up production in November and launch its flagship Tai 9 SUV.

BYD's (HKEX: 1211) Fang Cheng Bao brand has announced cumulative sales of 600,000 vehicles as it expands its lineup and prepares to accelerate deliveries of its newly launched sedan series.

The brand announced the milestone on Weibo on Sunday, without disclosing October sales or a breakdown by model. BYD is expected to release those figures later today.

Fang Cheng Bao's cumulative sales stood at 582,173 vehicles at the end of September, according to data compiled by CnEVPost. Sales in the first 9 months of this year totaled 285,436 vehicles, up 147.53% year-on-year.

In September, the brand sold 43,181 vehicles, up 79.02% year-on-year and 3.88% from August. Its sales in the first 9 months already exceeded the 234,637 vehicles sold in all of 2025.

The Tai 7 reached the 300,000 sales milestone in October, Fang Cheng Bao general manager Xiong Tianbo said in an October 31 Weibo post, underscoring the family SUV's importance to the brand's expansion.

As sales grow, Fang Cheng Bao is moving beyond rugged off-road SUVs into a broader market, with a lineup now spanning urban family SUVs, electric sedans and shooting brakes.

However, deliveries of its new models have yet to meet the company's expectations. Xiong said the team's main focus in October was Formula S series deliveries, but the month's total still fell short of expectations.

Volume deliveries of the Formula S progressed steadily in early October, while deliveries of the Formula S GT began in the middle of the month. The team will make every effort to increase production and accelerate deliveries in November to shorten customer waiting times, she said.

Xiong did not disclose October delivery figures for the Formula series or the previous target.

The Formula S sedan and Formula S GT shooting brake went on sale on September 16, with starting prices announced at 189,900 yuan ($28,290) and 219,900 yuan, respectively.

The 2 models marked Fang Cheng Bao's entry into the electric sedan market, adding a new source of sales for a brand previously reliant on SUVs.

Fang Cheng Bao will also expand its family SUV lineup. Tai 9 display vehicles began shipping to stores across China this week, ahead of the model's official launch in November, Xiong said.

The 6-seat Tai 9 will be the third model in the Tai lineup, following the Tai 3 and Tai 7. Xiong said on October 22 that the Tai 9 was scheduled to launch after November 15.

Under the timeline she outlined then, the Shark pickup is also scheduled to launch in China in late November or early December, with deliveries beginning at the same time, further broadening Fang Cheng Bao's product range.

The Tai 9 will officially launch after November 15, while the Shark pickup is scheduled to launch in China in late November or early December.
