Brabus sells a city-based “electric car” for $50,000. Only 10 units will be produced.

Brabus, primarily associated with extremely powerful Mercedes vehicles, is entering the world of electric motorcycles. Together with the French company DAB Motors, it has created a series of urban motorcycles whose strongest selling point is not performance but… exclusivity. The limited edition Fragment Edition will cost around $50,000, with only 10 units available worldwide.

Brabus explores a new direction

The German manufacturer has built its reputation over the years through spectacular modifications to cars, especially Mercedes models. Now the brand has decided to leverage its recognition in a completely different segment. During Milan Design Week 2026, it unveiled a new family of urban electric motorcycles in partnership with the French manufacturer DAB Motors.

As Brabus itself states, the partnership aims to “raise the standards of urban mobility” by combining the brand’s signature “One-Second-Wow” effect with DAB Motors’ expertise in designing lightweight and high-performance electric motorcycles.

The result of this collaboration are three models: DAB 1α Brabus, Brabus Urban E, and Brabus Urban E First Edition. All utilize the modular DAB 1α platform but differ in terms of equipment level, performance, and degree of exclusivity, according to the brand’s statement.

Style over performance

The Brabus logo usually signifies huge power boosts, but this time the manufacturer took a different approach. As the British website Top Gear notes, the German tuner “took a break from building Mercedes engines with 1000 HP and introduced an electric motorcycle.”

The base DAB 1α Brabus is equipped with a 7.1 kWh battery, an engine producing 31 HP, and a drivetrain that allows a top speed of 120 km/h. The manufacturer claims a range of up to 150 km in urban conditions.

The Urban E version features a modified inverter and new drivetrain settings. As a result, its power increased to around 36 horsepower, with torque also seeing a significant boost. Top Gear quotes representatives of the brand who claim that “every millimeter of the motorcycle has been meticulously customized by Brabus.” In practice, this means additional carbon fiber elements, a more aggressive styling, and distinctive details familiar from the brand’s cars.

The most expensive urban “electric” bike?

However, the most exciting version is the special Urban E Fragment Edition. This is the result of a collaboration not only between Brabus and DAB Motors but also Hiroshi Fujiwara, one of the most influential designers in Japanese street fashion and founder of the Fragment Design brand.

As described by the website Ścigacz.pl, the motorcycle generates 37 horsepower and produces a claimed 475 Nm of torque at the wheel. The manufacturer also states an urban range of up to 150 km. Charging from 20% to 100% takes about three hours, while a full charge takes between three and four hours.

In terms of design, this is not a machine meant to compete with sports motorcycles. It features a steel frame with a tubular auxiliary frame and an aluminum swingarm. The rider can choose from five driving modes: Eco, Street, Sport, Nitrous Boost, and Reverse.

Luxury expressed through carbon fiber

The uniqueness of the Fragment Edition lies primarily in the details. The motorcycle features a distinctive black-and-white style inspired by Fragment Design. Not only are the carbon fiber elements white, but so too are the brake calipers and the leather seat.

Carbon fiber is used for components such as the front fender, underbody shield, side panels, and rear spoiler. Another distinctive feature is the Fragment logo integrated into the LED tail light beneath the seat. Each unit is said to be hand-assembled in France at the DAB Motors factory.

Collectible item, an irrational choice

The most controversial aspect remains the price. The Brabus Urban E Fragment Edition costs around $50,000. This is a price point typically reserved for the most powerful sports motorcycles, which far outperform this electric vehicle in terms of performance.

However, it’s difficult to judge this project solely based on specifications. Brabus itself emphasizes that the top-tier First Edition is meant to be “the ultimate expression of exclusivity and individuality.” For the Fragment Edition, exclusivity is further enhanced by a production limit of just 10 units worldwide.
