Bosch trials fuel cell bus technology in Madrid

Bosch presented its new fuel cell system for buses at the Mobility Move trade fair in Berlin in March. Designed for roof installation on 12- and 18-metre buses, the system is available in several configurations. The company has now started real-world trials of the FCPM C190 variant, which delivers a continuous output of 190 kW, in an Irizar bus. The vehicle will carry passengers on Madrid’s public transport network over the coming weeks under regular operating conditions. The bus will primarily serve routes where its long range can be fully utilised. According to Bosch, its hydrogen tanks provide a range of more than 1,000 kilometres, making the vehicle suitable for intercity services as well. Alongside the FCPM C190, Bosch also offers the FCPM C300 for heavy-duty coaches and trucks. The portfolio is rounded off by the FCPM C100, which is designed for city buses. bosch-presse.de
