The BMW iX3 has received 100,000 orders in Europe. One out of every three BMW EVs today is this model.

One year after the launch of sales, BMW reported that the new iX3 has received over 100,000 orders in Europe. This represents about one-third of all BMW electric vehicle orders since September 2025, marking the best debut for a new model in the brand’s history.
For BMW, this is a strong signal that the Neue Klasse isn’t just a set of impressive visuals. Drivers are more concerned about whether there’s a real product behind the strong start, rather than just a long queue of interested buyers.
The iX3 is achieving results BMW has never seen before
Even six months after its launch, Oliver Zipse mentioned 50,000 orders. Now that figure has reached 100,000 in just one year, and this is only for Europe. Jochen Goller, BMW’s head of sales and marketing, described this result as a “fantastic start” for the Neue Klasse.
According to Der Spiegel, the new iX3 accounts for about one-third of all electric BMW orders since its launch in September 2025. Moreover, it is expected to make up roughly half of the orders for the entire X3 lineup. This is no longer a niche model in the portfolio but rather one driving overall sales performance.
A strong start can also be seen outside Europe. In China, the iX3 went on sale last month at a price starting from 269,900 yuan. Dealers cited by 36Kr said outright that once the price was announced, the sales department hardly stopped working, with tens of thousands of preliminary orders coming in within less than a week. However, caution is needed here, as “blind pre-orders” are not yet confirmed sales.
800 V, 400 kW, and 805 km WLTP range. On paper, this looks very impressive.
The iX3 is BMW’s first electric vehicle on the Neue Klasse platform and the first model equipped with Gen6 eDrive. The manufacturer claims 30 percent faster charging and a 30 percent longer range compared to previous generations of electric cars. Marketing loves percentages, but behind them are actual concrete figures.
The new iX3 features an 800 V architecture, new cylindrical cells, and DC charging up to 400 kW. According to BMW, the car can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes. This sounds like top-tier performance, though of course it depends on a sufficiently powerful charger and a preheated battery.
In Poland, the iX3 40 starts at 294,500 zł and offers up to 637 km of WLTP range. The iX3 50 xDrive costs from 334,500 zł and is said to provide up to 805 km of WLTP range. WLTP remains a laboratory test, but even adjusted for real-world conditions, these figures seem quite impressive. By the end of 2027, BMW aims to introduce 40 new or refreshed models featuring Neue Klasse technology and design.
If these 100,000 orders translate into consistent deliveries, BMW might finally have an electric vehicle that isn’t just an “alternative for loyal brand customers.” What do you think? Does the iX3 have a chance to disrupt Europe as much as the Tesla Model Y, or will it end up being a luxury option only for existing BMW customers?
