BMW i3: Price starting at 290,000 PLN for the BMW i3 50 xDrive and at 331,900 PLN for the First Edition. Unfortunately, we missed our chance.

The reports from the weekly magazine Automobilwoche have been confirmed — BMW has launched pre-sales for the BMW i3. Prices start at 290,000 złoty, which is just below that of the BMW iX3, an SUV with the same powertrain. Likely, those who opt for the BMW i3 50 xDrive First Edition will be served first, with its price starting at 331,900 złoty. For a model in the D segment, it’s expensive, even though it has a range of up to 900 WLTP units.

New BMW i3 50 xDrive: Price, specifications, and everything we know

First Edition: Price, range, features

The model’s main website encourages users to sign up without showing a detailed price list (HERE), but the cost of the BMW i3 was revealed in a press release (source). The base model, yet highly technologically equipped 50 xDrive version with a maximum power of 345 kW/469 hp and torque of 645 Nm, is priced at 290,000 złoty. However, the more interesting option is the First Edition version, meant for those who are particularly impatient.

First Edition: price, range, specifications

The car in this version is priced at 331,900 Polish zlotys and promises up to 906 WLTP miles of range. What’s interesting is that usually pre-orders start with models that look better due to larger wheels but have lower range. However, the manufacturer claims that thanks to a 114 (~108.7) kWh battery, we won’t see a range below 756 WLTP units (the minimum), meaning around 648 kilometers in urban or urban-suburban driving conditions, 455 kilometers at 120 km/h, and 349 kilometers at 140 km/h [preliminary calculations by Elektrowozu based on BMW’s initial data].

We can recharge the battery at a rate of up to 400 kW, just like in the BMW iX3.

If we’re interested in a light interior, the only option is Contemporary Digital White; the rest of the upholstery comes in dark colors: black, red, green, and black with black for the M line. As standard equipment, we get an display at the bottom of the windshield, a projection display on the windshield (HUD 3D), Iconic Glow lighting for the radiator grille, and the M Sport package. In the BMW iX3, this last option increases the car’s price by 19,500 złotys and replaces the wheels with 20-inch ones (which reduces range), but the package also includes features such as heated front seats, a sport steering wheel, and an inductive phone charger.

What’s not included? Looking back at the BMW iX3 configurator, we can conclude that the BMW i3 First Edition will require an additional cost for things like 360-degree cameras with parking assistance and a Harman Kardon audio system. Production of the i3 will begin in August, with deliveries expected as early as the fourth quarter of 2026.
