BikeUP Festival, in Parma on the 19th and 20th — two days dedicated to e-bikes
Family cargo bikes, e-bikes, special bicycles, test rides, and routes for children. On September 19th and 20th, Parma’s Cittadella Park hosts the BikeUP Festival. The Cargo Days also make their debut, focusing on new forms of urban mobility.
For two days, Parma’s Cittadella Park transforms into a large cycling village. On Saturday, September 19th, and Sunday, September 20th, the BikeUP Festival takes place, a event dedicated to urban mobility and e-bikes in all their variations.
The program includes test rides of e-bikes and cargo bikes on a protected route, guided tours, workshops, new products from leading brands, and MTB routes for children supervised by federal technicians.
The event coincides with the European Mobility Week.
Cargo Days make their debut: Could the bike become the family car?
The most interesting new feature of the 2026 edition is the debut of BikeUP Cargo Days, an event within an event dedicated to cargo bikes and special bicycles.
This initiative is carried out in partnership with Biga, a Milan-based company specializing in cargo bikes for families and last-mile logistics. The goal is to demonstrate concretely how these vehicles can be used in daily commuting.
Attendees will be able to learn about and test cargo bikes designed for transporting children, goods, and people, as well as participate in dedicated tours. This is a valuable opportunity especially for those considering these vehicles as an alternative to a second family car.
Special Bicycles and Mobility for People with Disabilities
The theme chosen for Cargo Days is broader: “mobility for everyone.”
Remoove, an Italian company specializing in the sale and rental of bicycles for people with disabilities as well as services related to inclusive mobility and tourism, will also be present at the event.
In addition to the more traditional e-bikes, there will be opportunities to learn about various other types of vehicles, all sharing the goal of making cycling accessible to a wider audience.
BikeUP 2026 lasts nine days
The Festival della Cittadella represents the culmination of a greatly revamped BikeUP. In 2026, the event has taken on the form of a true ecosystem consisting of two events and nine days of activities.
Since September 12, the BikeUP Travel Days have been underway at the Fiere di Parma, held within the Camper Salon and running until September 20.
The main focus here is the encounter between two travel styles that share many commonalities: campers and e-bikes. The event area offers exhibitions, free trials of electric bikes, mechanics courses, workshops, and events dedicated to cycling tourism and slow travel.
From cycling tourism to daily mobility
Through these two events, BikeUP aims to showcase two different aspects of electric bicycles. On one hand, there’s the e-bike used for leisure and travel, perhaps carried in a camper; on the other hand, there’s the bicycle as a true daily transportation tool.
BikeUP Festival and Cargo Days take place on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, at Parma’s Cittadella Park, with free admission. The BikeUP Travel Days continue until September 20 at the Fiere di Parma and are included with the ticket to the Salone del Camper.
