Bentley confirmed the key specifications ahead of the Torcal debut: 850 horsepower, two electric motors, and a 0-60 mph time of under 3.0 seconds. The car is set to be the most powerful and fastest-accelerating production Bentley in history, but the brand immediately dampens expectations for those hoping for over 1,000 horsepower.
This move says a lot. Bentley wants to sell luxury and comfort, not record-breaking figures.
850 Horsepower, 800 V, and a 113 kWh Battery
The Torcal will be built on Volkswagen’s PPE platform, the same one used in Audi and Porsche electric models. It features an 800 V architecture, so technically it’s based on a modern and proven foundation rather than some exotic design built from scratch.
The engine power is set to be 850 HP, or 634 kW. This means the Torcal will outperform the diesel-powered Continental GT Speed with 771 HP, becoming Bentley’s most powerful production model. However, if one looks at the VW group’s models, they might raise an eyebrow slightly. The electric Porsche Cayenne, based on the same technical platform, has already demonstrated 1,139 HP.
And it is here that Bentley shapes its narrative in its own way: it’s not about the highest horsepower figure, but rather about the “Bentley feeling” — silence, smoothness, and comfort. On paper, this makes sense. Especially for a brand whose customers are unlikely to race against the Taycan Turbo GT under the lights.
According to current information, the Torcal is set to use a front engine from the Audi Q6 e-tron and a rear engine from the Porsche Cayenne Electric. It will also feature an 113 kWh battery, shared with the Cayenne as well. So technically, we have a solid combination of components. Premium, but still from the same tier.
Bentley focuses on interior and comfort, not competing with Porsche
Bentley says that despite its very strong performance, the Torcal will remain a car primarily focused on comfort. The specifications confirm a pneumatic suspension, a steerable rear axle, active stabilizers, and a top speed limited to 250 km/h.
Inside, elements are set to truly distinguish the car from its technical cousins within the group. The brand mentions Ombre wood, 100-percent Merino wool upholstery, and a curved infotainment screen. This is probably the most honest approach for Bentley—rather than pretending to be an electric hyper-SUV, it aims to create a very fast luxury car on wheels.
From the teasers, it’s also clear that stylistically, the Torcal doesn’t deviate much from what the brand’s customers are already familiar with. The front end and body lines have a slight “mini-Bentayga” vibe—nothing shocking or revolutionary, just safe and conventional.
