With the SUV variant, the Polestar 4 becomes more practical... and more classic

The Polestar 4 becomes more spacious and practical with a new version called SUV… which resembles a station wagon. This variant features a traditional rear window!

At Polestar, the 4 now comes in two versions. Initially launched as a coupe SUV, the model is now available either as a “Coupé” or as an… “SUV.” This is indeed the official name for this new version, which gives the original 4 a more conventional look. Well, almost.

While the original 4 resembled an elevated sedan, this version gives the impression of being more of a station wagon than an SUV, an impression reinforced by the addition of roof rails.

This variant targets customers seeking a more practical model without resorting to the higher-end and thus more expensive SUV 3. The brand kept things simple, designing only 48 new parts to create this version. As a result, the designers retained the headlights, rear bumper, and even the base of the trunk lid.

The roof line is straighter and the rear section more vertical. The biggest difference is, of course, the addition of a rear window; the 4 Coupé stands out for lacking this feature, replaced instead by a digital rearview mirror. This feature remains available in this SUV version.

The new silhouette provides more headroom for the passengers in the bench seat, with an additional 2.5 centimeters. There is a new, longer glass roof that features a variable opacity system. The trunk has a capacity of 530 liters; by folding the seats (60/40), the space can be increased to 1,665 liters.

This model introduces a “Camping” mode. However, there is no mattress for sleeping aboard—this function is designed to allow users to take advantage of the vehicle’s amenities while parked for comfort and relaxation.

630 km range

On the technical side, the “Rear motor propulsion” version is equipped with a rear engine producing 272 hp (200 kW) and a maximum torque of 343 Nm. The 100 kWh battery enables a WLTP combined range of 630 km.

The “Dual motor transmission intégrale” version features two engines, delivering a combined maximum of 544 hp (400 kW) and 686 Nm of torque. This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The range is 600 km.

AC charging can reach up to 22 kW. For fast DC charging, it’s up to 200 kW. The model offers two-way charging with V2L functionality (3.3 kW), available via an optional adapter.

The model is already available for ordering. The price is 56,800 € for the rear-wheel drive version and 64,800 € for the all-wheel drive version. Note that these prices are lower than those of the Coupe!

A Performance package is available, including Brembo brakes, recalibrated ZF active suspensions, or 22-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. The price rises to 74,500 €.

Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
