AutoWallis: Zeekr officially in Poland. Starting from the fourth quarter, models Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 8X, Zeekr 9X, and Zeekr 7GT will be available.

The Hungarian AutoWallis dealership network announced that it will introduce Zeekr, a brand owned by the Chinese conglomerate Geely, to Poland and Austria this year. In Poland, this will be done through the Portuguese partner Salvador Ceatano. The vehicles will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, with AutoWallis listing six models: Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 8X, Zeekr 9X, and Zeekr 7GT. Prices have not been disclosed yet.

Salvador Caetano was a deceased Portuguese multimillionaire who invested in the automotive industry, but the presence of a company bearing his name is quite surprising in this press release. The Salvador Caetano Group focused on several European countries and Africa, while always avoiding Eastern Europe, including Poland (source). Perhaps Zeekr’s tentative entry was seen as a business opportunity to take over German or Swiss dealership groups?

AutoWallis is present in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Albania, Slovakia, and Montenegro, but Poland is a rather unique market: it has a large area (meaning wide coverage is highly desirable; EREV drives are likely to be well-received), its residents are quite wealthy, yet they distrust new technologies. Additionally, the countries served by AutoWallis (Hungary, Albania) are mainly known as places where criminals flee to hide from the justice system. Zbigniew Z. and Marcin R. decided that Hungary would be their first stop.

Zeekr 9X

Unofficially, we know that Chinese car manufacturers are having trouble in Poland. So far, the approach used in the United Kingdom has proven most effective—offering wide availability at the lowest possible prices. Meanwhile, for Geely, Zeekr is a luxury brand positioned above Volvo. A luxury brand cannot be cheap or sold alongside budget cars; however, in Poland, Volvo—this is completely unofficial information—is strongly opposing the introduction of Polestar and Zeekr vehicles into its showrooms. Geely has already learned its lesson from forcing Chinese methods in Europe and has been cautious for many years.

Zeekr X

Zeekr Europe President Lothar Schupet said that “AutoWallis group has [a range of desirable features] in Central and Eastern Europe.” Thus, there is official approval for selling cars in our region, but no support has been offered. AutoWallis just needs to make it work. Car prices have not been disclosed, nor is it clear where potential buyers will service their beautiful and expensive vehicles. Volvo dealers are staying out, even though the platform is the same, so AutoWallis will have to offer a better solution.
