Audi and 2025 European Rally Champion, Miko Marczyk, have claimed the Guinness World Record for the longest journey driven by an electric car on a single charge.
Behind the wheel of an unmodified Audi A6 Sportback e-tron Performance, 30-year-old Marczyk covered a total distance of 831.39 miles (1,338 kilometres) across his native Poland to demonstrate the reliability of the Central European’s nation’s public charging network, as well as the capabilities of modern EVs.
The previous record was held by Umit Sabanci, Kenneth Schofield, and Fergal McGrath, who covered 748.75 miles (1,205km) in a Lucid Air Grand Touring.

Marczyk’s outbound journey took him 415.69 miles (669km) from the Tatra mountains on the Slovak border in southern part of the country, to the seaside town of Hel on the Baltic Sea in the north. His return journey covered exactly the same route and distance in reverse.
The effort took Marczyk over 45 hours, with an average air temperature of 15°C across various types of public roads, including mountain passes, motorways, and through the city streets of the Polish capital, Warsaw.
The Audi, with its 94.9kWh battery, has an official WLTP range of 468 miles and an efficiency rating of 3.8 to 4.5 miles per kilowatt hour. As well as setting a distance record, Marczyk recorded a whopping 8.8 mi/kWh, almost twice as much as the official quoted efficiency number.

He also quoted the A6’s 800V electrical architecture as vital to allowing everyday drivers to make significant progress at the Polish motorway speed limit of 140kmh (87mph), as Ingolstadt’s dedicated EV underpinnings translate into a 10-80% top up time of 21 minutes and a maximum fast-charging speed of 270kW.
“Our attempt was, of course, an experiment. In everyday driving, motorists can rely on Poland’s rapidly expanding charging infrastructure,” he said. “In as little as a few minutes— or just over 10 —we can add enough charge to continue travelling at motorway speeds.”
Łódż-born Marczyk is no stranger to setting Guinness World Records related to eco-driving. Away from the stages of the European Rally Championship, the Pole claimed the record for driving 1,759 miles (2,831 kilometres) on a single tank of fuel in a fourth-generation Škoda Superb.

In another challenge, Marczyk, driving an all-electric Škoda Enyaq, raced his co-driver, Szymon Gospodarczyk who was on a train, from the Tatras to the Baltic. On a single charge, Marczyk came out on top.
The Audi A6 e-tron is priced from £62,590 for the entry-level Sport model. The next trim levels up are the £66,090 S line and the £68,690 Black Edition. The range-topping Vorsprung starts at £77,715.
