Audi is returning in a different form
The Audi A2 is making its comeback — but in a slightly different form from the original model produced from 1999 to 2005. This time it’s entirely electric and is meant to serve as the cheapest entry point into Audi’s electric lineup.
The Polish pricing is as follows:
- Audi A2 e-tron 170 HP, 52 kWh battery – 175,000 zł,
- Audi A2 e-tron 190 HP, 61 kWh battery – 190,900 zł,
- Audi A2 e-tron 231 HP, 84 kWh battery – 222,800 zł,
All capacity values refer to gross capacity. Audi uses two types of cells here. The smaller batteries of 52 and 61 kWh utilize LFP chemistry, while the 84 kWh battery uses NMC cells. All versions feature rear-wheel drive.
The base model delivers 350 Nm, as do the 190 and 231 KM variants. Only the top-tier A2 e-tron 326 KM offers 545 Nm. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration times are 8.8, 7.9, 7.0, and 5.7 seconds respectively. The three weaker versions can reach a top speed of 160 km/h, while the most powerful one reaches 200 km/h.
Up to 644 km range and 183 kW charging
Audi Polska claims a maximum range of 644 km. For international homologation, the manufacturer specifies up to 423 km for the 170 KM version, 515 km for the 190 KM variant, up to 646 km for the 231 KM model, and 630 km for the most powerful 326 KM version. The slight difference from the 644 km stated in the Polish offer is due to the vehicle’s configuration and local specifications.
Differences also exist in charging. The version with a 52 kWh battery can accept up to 100 kW DC and takes 24 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. With a 61 kWh battery, it can handle 105 kW and requires 26 minutes. Both versions with an 84 kWh battery can charge at up to 183 kW, with Audi stating it takes 29 minutes to reach 10% to 80% charge.
The A2 e-tron also supports V2L, allowing it to power external devices using energy stored in the battery. Technically, a V2H function is also available, enabling the car to be used as a home energy storage unit, though Audi currently offers it only in select markets.
Compact, but not as small as the old A2
The new model is 4.32 meters long with a wheelbase of 2.77 meters, making it a proper modern compact car.
The trunk holds 396 liters, and 1336 liters when the rear seat is folded down. The 231 and 326 HP versions with a larger battery also feature a 13-liter compartment under the front bumper.

Standard features include adaptive cruise control, Audi drive select, parking sensors, a rearview camera, keyless entry, electric trunk opening, seat heating, and LED headlights.
The cabin adopts the style of Audi’s latest models. In front of the driver is an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus, along with a 12.8-inch MMI screen. An artificial intelligence-powered voice control system is also available.
Polish importer has prepared three main packages
Comfort costs 8600 zł and includes features such as electrically adjustable front seats, memory for driver’s seat and mirror settings, sporty seats, and a winter package with heated steering wheel and seats.
Technology is priced at 5700 zł. It includes Matrix LED headlights, LED pro tail lights, an expanded Connectivity multimedia package, and a more advanced Ambiente plus lighting system.

Exterieur includes items such as an S line exterior package, Audi Sport wheels, tinted windows, and metallic paint. It costs 12 000 zł or 11 290 zł, depending on the powertrain version.
The base models with 170 and 190 HP come standard with 18-inch wheels. The 231 and 326 HP variants are equipped with 19-inch wheels.

Fierce competition
On one hand, the A2 is significantly more expensive than many popular electric cars; on the other hand, these are typical prices for its premium segment, to which Audi belongs.
One of its competitors is the Volvo EX30. The current price for the base version is 169,990 PLN. The EX30 P5 has 272 HP, rear-wheel drive, and a 51 kWh battery, but it offers a maximum WLTP range of 337 km. The Long Range variant starts at 201,990 PLN and achieves a range of up to 475 km.

Apart from the premium segment, Kia EV3 serves as a strong benchmark. The price starts at 166,900 PLN. The car has 204 HP, and its larger 81.4 kWh battery allows for a WLTP range of up to 605 km. Thus, Kia is cheaper, has a larger trunk, and offers very long range, but Audi tries to justify the price difference through its brand, interior quality, equipment, and more extensive range of powertrains.
The technically related Volkswagen ID.3 Neo is even cheaper, costing 152,990 PLN for the 50 kWh version with 170 HP.
If we narrow down the comparison to German premium brands, the A2 appears more cost-effective.
The BMW iX1 currently starts at 223,500 zł. The base iX1 eDrive20 delivers 204 horsepower and has front-wheel drive, while the more powerful xDrive30 offers 313 horsepower and a range of up to 467 km WLTP.
Mercedes currently charges 205,100 zł for the electric GLA. As a result, the base Audi model is 30,100 zł cheaper.
A2’s biggest competitor in the same segment
The current, larger Audi Q4 e-tron costs from 222,000 zł. It offers a WLTP range of up to 578 km and DC charging at up to 185 kW. The more sporty-styled Q4 Sportback e-tron starts at 232,100 zł.
This creates a rather unusual situation. The A2 e-tron with 231 horsepower and an 84 kWh battery costs 222,800 zł, which is 800 zł more than the base, much larger Q4 e-tron. The most powerful A2 e-tron at 235,000 zł is 13,000 zł more expensive than it, and even 2,900 zł more costly than the base Q4 Sportback.

We’re comparing different powertrain and equipment versions here. The A2 priced at 222,800 zł comes with a large battery, 231 HP, and a range of over 600 km, while the base Q4 offers different specifications. Nevertheless, anyone using the configurator will likely notice that for the more powerful A2 versions, the extra cost compared to the larger model essentially disappears. On the other hand, the base A2 e-tron at 175,000 zł is 47,000 zł cheaper than the Q4. The question remains as to what the situation will be like when financing through monthly payments.
The first deliveries of the A2 in Europe are set to begin in December 2026. The car is already available for ordering.
