All electric mid-size SUVs in 2026: models, prices, and ranges

Electric SUVs are abundant on the German market, as plentiful as sand by the sea. The variety of models is so great that we have divided our overview into four size categories. This section focuses on mid-size SUVs, which we define here as models with a length between 4.61 and 4.80 meters.
We last updated our list completely in January 2026. Since then, we have added the VW ID. Tiguan, BMW iX4, Xpeng L03, DS N°7, MGS6 EV, and Geely E5. New powertrain options for the BMW iX3, Citroën e-C5 Aircross, Ford Capri, Kia EV5, Mercedes GLB, Porsche Macan, and others, along with various price changes, are also included now. We removed the BYD Seal-U because it is no longer offered as an electric vehicle.
Now, onto the mid-size SUVs; they are listed in order of length.
Kia EV5 (4.61 meters)

The Kia EV5 is available for ordering since November 2025. It is based on the E-GMP platform in a front-wheel-drive configuration with 400 volts. Its technology is similar to that of the EV3 and EV4 models. However, while those models have a 150-kW front-wheel-drive motor, the EV5 features a 160-kW motor. Optionally, all-wheel-drive versions with 195 kW or 225 kW (GT) power are now available as well. Additionally, only the larger battery option is offered here, with a capacity of 81 kWh (approximately 78 kWh net). This allows for up to 530 WLTP kilometers per charge. Charging is possible at a maximum rate of 150 kW. Prices start at 45,990 euros, making this car even slightly more expensive than the base version of the Kia EV6.

Alpine A390 (4.62 meters)

Well, is this still a crossover or already a coupe-SUV? Opinions on this can vary. But with 1.53 meters, the car is quite tall. Its technical base is the RGEV Medium platform, which is also used in models like the Renault Scenic and the new Nissan Leaf. The Alpine A390 is now available in two all-wheel-drive configurations. What’s special is that both versions have one engine at the front and two at the back, enabling active torque vectoring. The A390 GT has 295 kW of power, while the GTS offers 345 kW. Both are equipped with an 89-kWh battery, providing up to 551 km of WLTP range. Prices start at 67,500 euros.

VW ID. Tiguan (4.62 meters)

The VW ID. Tiguan is the successor to the ID.4. It has been available for configuration since October 2026. Compared to the ID.4, changes mainly affect the exterior design and interior, while the powertrains and batteries remain unchanged—the new 140-kW rear-wheel drive version and the new 220-kW all-wheel drive version were already available in the ID.4, as was the 210-kW version. With its slightly increased length, this model now falls into the mid-size category according to our criteria. Prices start at 42,695 euros. This amount is reduced by the “ID. Kaufprämie” subsidy of 4,000 euros, which rises to 5,000 euros for “Style” models.

Cupra Tavascan (4.64 meters)

The Cupra Tavascan, as a coupe-SUV, is equivalent to the VW ID.5, Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, and Skoda Enyaq Coupé. Unlike its sister brands, it does not offer a “regular” SUV version but only the coupe-SUV format. Well-known MEB powertrains are used for propulsion: the base version delivers 140 kW and a 58-kWh battery, while the 210-kW rear-wheel-drive version and the 250-kW all-wheel-drive version draw power from a 77-kWh battery. Technically, the Tavascan has nothing particularly remarkable about it; its uniqueness lies more in its design.

Genesis Electrified GV70 2025 (4.72 meters)
The Genesis Electric GV70 is based on the gasoline-powered GV70 model. At 4.72 meters long, it is about 20 centimeters longer than the GV60. Two 180-kW electric motors provide strong all-wheel drive, and since the facelift (model year 2025), a new 84-kWh battery handles power supply. This increased the range from a modest 455 km to still not particularly impressive 479 km. However, thanks to the 800-volt system, charging takes only 19 minutes (10–80%). In line with the brand’s premium positioning and engine performance, the price is not low at all.
Starting price: 70,230 euros (model year 2025)
All-wheel drive with 360 kW
0–100 km/h / Top speed: 4.4 seconds in boost mode / 235 km/h

KGM Torres EVX (4.72 meters)
The KGM brand is still better known under its former name, SsangYong. The Torres EVX is the mid-size SUV from this Korean company. It features a front-wheel-drive system with 152 kW of power, powered by an 81 kWh LFP battery. This allows for a range of up to 503 km according to WLTP standards. Prices start at 41,990 euros. However, there is also a special model called the Torres EVX Nomad available for just 34,990 euros, which is even better equipped than the standard base version. One of its standout features appears to be its large trunk space: 839 liters in the standard configuration, including a floor storage compartment, which is quite substantial.
Base price: 34,990 euros (Nomad)
Front-wheel-drive with 152 kW
0–100 km/h / Top speed: 8.2 seconds / 175 km/h

Mercedes GLB (4.73 meters)
The electric Mercedes GLB was introduced in December 2025.
