630 km of range, fast charging in 12 minutes, and LiDAR technology for just over 15,000 euros: the new Lynk & Co 02 dominates from day one.

The new Lynk & Co 02 has just entered the market with a lineup that combines sporty design, advanced technology, and performance features that place it right in one of the most competitive segments of the market. Initial buyer response has been particularly impressive, with thousands of orders placed within just one hour of its launch.

We are talking about a compact SUV coupe that has gone somewhat unnoticed in Europe, with only 869 units registered across all EU markets, and which now features significant upgrades over its predecessor. These include a new electric powertrain system, a driver assistance system powered by LiDAR, and a spacious front trunk. All of this is accompanied by a starting price that is especially competitive for the Chinese market.

The new Lynk & Co 02 began sales in China on September 28, with an official price range of 123,800 to 163,800 yuan, equivalent to 15,660 to 20,700 euros. Discounts are applied during the initial sales period, bringing the price range down to 118,800 to 158,800 yuan, or 15,030 to 20,070 euros.

Beyond its price, what stands out is the speed at which Chinese customers responded to its launch. According to Lynk & Co, the new 02 received 14,663 firm orders in its first hour on sale, after buyers were able to select exactly the version and configuration they wanted. Initial delivery figures will be available in October.

An electric SUV coupe with LiDAR and a range of up to 630 km

The new Lynk & Co 02 features a significant update to its exterior design, with new bumpers and partially hidden door handles. On the roof sits one of its most eye-catching elements: a 192-line LiDAR sensor that is part of the advanced driver assistance system. The Flying version adds a sports package with a carbon fiber rear spoiler, front splitter, rear diffuser, and side skirts.

The model is 4.49 meters long, 1.84 meters wide, and 1.5 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. It also features a rear trunk capacity of 339 liters and a front trunk that holds as much as 125 liters.

The interior emphasizes a tech-focused design, with a 15.4-inch central screen paired with a 10.2-inch LCD dashboard. Higher trims include features uncommon in this segment, such as a 50 W wireless phone charger, seats partially covered in suede, a sound system with 23 speakers, an integrated 6.8-liter refrigerator, and a dynamic ambient lighting system.

The technology also plays a key role in driving. The Lynk & Co 02 allows use of the assisted navigation function on highways and urban roads, relying on the vehicle’s sensors and the LiDAR installed on the roof.

In terms of mechanics, the new Lynk & Co 02 introduces a 16-in-1 propulsion system, a solution that integrates various components of the electrical system into one unit to reduce space and improve efficiency. The TZ184QY301 electric motor is located on the rear axle and delivers a maximum power of 245 kW (329 HP) and a maximum torque of 320 Nm.

The performance is also up to par with what one would expect from a modern electric SUV coupe. The Lynk & Co 02 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 201 km/h.

The model is available with two battery capacities, 61.5 and 70 kWh, both using LFP chemistry, which provide a range of between 545 and 630 km under the CLTC cycle, estimated to be around 475 to 550 km under WLTP.

In Europe, the current model is equipped with a 66 kWh battery pack, giving it a WLTP range of 445 km, so the new version is likely to increase this figure slightly to get closer to the psychological threshold of 500 km WLTP.
