5 reasons to try the Leapmotor T03, an electric city car starting at 16,900 €
Leapmotor is selling the T03 in France, a small 100% electric city car distributed through the Stellantis network. Available in just one trim level, it features a 37.3 kWh LFP battery and a WLTP range of 265 km, all at a starting price of 16,900 € including taxes. Here are five good reasons to check it out and get behind the wheel.
A compact size perfectly suited for the city
With only 3.62 meters in length and 1.65 meters in width, the Leapmotor T03 is among the smallest electric cars on the market. Its 9.7 meter turning radius should also make maneuvering and parking in narrow streets easier.

The numbers give a preliminary idea, but nothing replaces driving it for a few kilometers to appreciate its agility in urban areas, visibility, and ease of parking.
An LFP battery and 265 km of range
The Leapmotor T03 is equipped with an electric motor producing 95 hp (70 kW), powered by a 37.3 kWh LFP battery with an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty. The manufacturer claims a WLTP range of 265 km and the ability to charge from 30% to 80% in 36 minutes using a DC fast charger with a maximum power of 48 kW.
During our Supertest of the Leapmotor T03, we measured approximately 240 km of range in mixed driving conditions at an outdoor temperature of 18 °C. We also observed a significant drop in charging speed when performing rapid charges in high heat.
For primarily urban and suburban use, the range indicated should still meet the needs of many drivers. A test mainly helps to get a more accurate idea of fuel consumption on routes similar to those taken daily.
A Connected City Car
Despite its price point, the T03 does not skimp on technological features. The interior centers around a 10.1-inch touchscreen that includes navigation capabilities.
A mobile app also allows remote access to various functions, such as locking the car, pre-conditioning the cabin, or checking the battery level.
The test will give you the chance to explore the interface, navigate through different menus, and see if the ergonomics fit your habits. Take the opportunity to sit in the back as well: with such a compact vehicle, a few centimeters can make a real difference in terms of comfort.
Many driving aids for the price
The T03 comes standard with several safety and driving assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, as well as blind spot monitoring. It also has six airbags.
This level of equipment is not typically expected in an electric car at this price point. During testing, you can also see how these features work and determine whether their operation feels natural enough for everyday use.
One trim level and an attractive price
There’s no need to spend long minutes in the configurator: the Leapmotor T03 is available in France in a single Design trim, already well-equipped. Its listed price is 19,500 €, and it can drop to 16,900 € with the conversion incentive. It’s also available for long-term rental starting at 139 € per month.

However, dimensions, range, or feature lists never tell the whole story. Driving position, comfort, screen ergonomics, interior space, and the performance of driving assistance systems are all factors that are easier to assess once you’re behind the wheel.
