1,600 km and starting at 18,975 €: the unexpected manufacturer no one saw coming in Spain launches its new hybrid SUV

Changan is one of the Chinese brands that has entered Spain in 2026. It is undoubtedly the manufacturer that delivered a sales surprise no one expected, with one of its SUVs ranking among the best-selling electric vehicles. This was achieved through its newly refreshed electric SUV, the Deepal S05. At 4.62 meters in length, it is the smaller sibling of another SUV available in Spain: the Deepal S07, which measures 4.75 meters.

Changan continues to launch new models regularly. Just a few weeks ago, it introduced this electric sedan in China with an 800 km range for only 14,100 €. Now it has released its new electric and “hybrid” SUV — an EREV model with a range of up to 1,600 km — starting at just 147,900 yuan, equivalent to 18,975 euros.

A plug-in and electric SUV with up to 1,600 km of range

It’s called the Changan Nevo Q06 and it’s equivalent to the electric sedan Nevo A06 that was introduced a few weeks ago. With a length of 4.83 meters, width of 1.97 meters, height of 1.67 meters, and a wheelbase of 2.94 meters, it surpasses the Deepal S05 and S07 models currently available in Spain.

And although it is also an electric SUV, available with three powertrains of 225 kW / 306 HP, 245 kW / 333 HP, and 330 kW / 449 HP, as well as up to four batteries ranging from 63.18 to 80.02 kWh, offering a range of up to 700 km and the ability to charge from 30% to 80% in just 9 minutes; its most interesting version and one most likely to arrive in Spain in the near future — Xpeng will bring its EREV SUV to our country by 2027 — is the one with a ‘hybrid’ or electric motor paired with an range extender, achieving a range of 1,600 km.

Chang’an has provided few details about this new version, which, unlike those with electric motors — available starting at around 18,975 euros — will cost only slightly more: starting at 157,900 yuan, or equivalent to 20,250 euros. It has not even been revealed what type of gasoline engine will be used as a range extender.

Well-equipped, with ample trunk space and options to bring it to Europe

With a trunk that offers up to 782 L of capacity thanks to a dual floor, plus the option of a frunk or front trunk holding 196 L, Changan’s new ‘hybrid’ SUV stands out for its exceptional storage capacity, which is very high even considering its size.

But it also stands out for its potential features. While it comes with the dual screens typical of all Chinese sedans and SUVs, this new model offers heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats as standard across all trims. It can also include a 15.6-inch foldable screen mounted on the ceiling for rear passengers, or even a refrigerator for these back seats.

Will it make it to Spain? Well, for now Changan has not indicated anything about the future commercialization of this SUV outside China, but the fact that the brand is already present in our country and that this new SUV is positioned above the models already available in Spain opens up significant possibilities that we might see it on our roads in the medium term.

This is especially true since the Nevo series belongs to Changan’s new Nevo brand, specialized in electric vehicles and expected to play an increasingly important role within the Chinese manufacturer. Recall that this brand has already made a surprise appearance in our country without much fanfare.
