Many already say that the biggest cost of the year isn’t in January but in September. This is because returning from holidays involves many expenses that reduce car sales. To counter this, Geely offers its plug-in hybrid SUV with a range of 1,000 km for 25,125 €, while MG responds with another SUV, the HS PHEV, starting at 24,540 €. BYD isn’t far behind.
Thus, until September 24th, it offers a 500 € discount on any of its electric vehicles. More importantly, it has a particularly interesting model available from 24,740 euros, with a range of up to 1,505 km and a trunk capacity of up to 1,535 liters. These two factors make it perfect for traveling.

Long range, 1,535 L trunk, and not an SUV
Despite the SUV trend that has persisted for years, this BYD model isn’t an SUV. We’re referring to the BYD SEAL 6, a sedan that is 4.84 meters long with a wheelbase of 2.79 meters. It’s a plug-in hybrid sedan with up to 1,505 km of range and is also available as a family version. Both versions share the same dimensions mentioned above.
Whether as a sedan or family version, this BYD non-SUV hybrid is available in Spain at this promotional price of 24,470 euros. BYD has reduced its regular price by 2,000 euros – a promotion that applies to both body styles.
Both body styles share the same mechanical specifications, but of course differ in trunk capacity. The sedan offers a cargo space of 491 L, which can be expanded to 1,370 L if the seats are folded down; while the family version starts with 500 L of space—rising to 691 L if measured up to the ceiling—and achieves 1,535 L of trunk space when the rear seatbacks are also folded down.

As for the mechanical configurations of this BYD plug-in hybrid that is not an SUV, there are two options—corresponding to the three available trims: Boost, Comfort, and a third option called Comfort Lite, which is only available for the family body style.
The first mechanical configuration features a 1.5 L engine with 96 HP and an electric motor of 145 kW / 195 HP, delivering a combined total power of 135 kW / 184 HP. It is always paired with a 10.08 kWh battery. With this setup, the sedan offers an estimated range of 1,505 km, while the family version achieves 1,350 km.

The mechanics of the Comfort and Comfort Lite versions are identical. Equipped with the same combination of thermal and electric motor as the Boost, they deliver 156 kW /212 HP and come with a larger battery capacity of 19 kWh. Fuel consumption is extremely low—1.5 L/100 km for the sedan and 1.7 L/100 km for the estate—but overall range still does not exceed 1,505 km: 1,455 km for the sedan and 1,350 km for the estate.
