14,390 € for an electric utility vehicle: Nissan cuts the price of its Townstar, but only on 100 units
14,390 euros before tax for a new electric van: this is the particularly aggressive price Nissan has set for its new limited edition of the Townstar EV. However, with discounts, EU subsidies, and a limited production run of just 100 units, this offer warrants some explanation.
At less than 15,000 euros before tax, the price is attractive to professionals looking for an electric van. As part of its “Les Phénoménales Nissan” marketing campaign, Nissan is launching a limited N-PRO series in France for its van lineup, offering a particularly competitive price on the Nissan Townstar EV. In its L1 configuration with a 45 kWh battery, the electric van is listed at 14,390 euros before tax after applying commercial discounts and EU subsidies.
A well-equipped van
To offer this competitive price, Nissan hasn’t stripped away features from its utility vehicle. Built on the Acenta trim level, the N-PRO series adds a rear camera, front and rear radars, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a two-seater passenger seat, air conditioning, as well as LED headlights.
The version of this N-PRO series also comes equipped with a 22 kW AC charger. This is a useful feature for using fast AC charging stations, but there’s one aspect professionals who travel long distances need to keep in mind. The announcement doesn’t specify whether it has a Combo CCS port that allows fast charging up to 80 kW. Available as an option, it costs 720 € before taxes. Its presence must therefore be verified at the dealership, especially for frequent long-distance drivers.

300 km of range for this cousin of the electric Kangoo
Beneath its Nissan badge, the Townstar EV shares many features with a well-known French utility vehicle. It is a cousin of the Renault Kangoo E-Tech, with both models being produced on the same assembly lines in Maubeuge.
Technically, the electric Townstar is equipped with a 122-horsepower engine that generates 245 Nm of torque. Its 45 kWh battery allows it to achieve up to 300 kilometers of range according to the WLTP cycle. Depending on the configuration, the cargo volume ranges from 3.3 to 4.9 m³, with a payload between 600 and 800 kg.
The N-PRO special series is not limited to the Townstar. Nissan has also extended it to the gasoline versions of the Primastar and Interstar, which are available here only in body-on-frame configurations. A total of 750 vehicles are planned: 100 Townstar EVs, 325 Primastars, and 325 Interstars. Thus, electric vehicles account for only 13% of the total volume involved in this initiative.
