Holiday itinerary
Eight days of river horses: Santarem, Constancia, Tomar, the Convent of Christ, Almourol, Golega. Tesla in Santarem; the levee roads are slow on purpose.
Season: Year-round. Golega horse fair in November fills rooms. River fog in winter mornings. Tomar festival of Tabuleiros every four years in July.
