Holiday itinerary

Nine days on the Norwegian Scenic Route Ryfylke: the Pulpit Rock trail, Oygardstol above Lysebotn, then Sauda and Roldal. Stavanger Tesla and Recharge in Jorpeland and Sauda make the hairpins to Lysebotn an EV day, not a prayer.

Season: Ryfylke is open year-round with two ferries; the Lysebotn hairpins can ice in winter. Preikestolen trail is best May-October.

Holiday itinerary

  1. Day 1 · Stavanger

White wooden streets and a Tesla before the fjord. Tomorrow the trail, not the car, does the climbing.

  2. Day 2 · Jorpeland

Preikestolen trailhead. Recharge after the hike; legs empty, battery still at 64.

  3. Day 4 · Lysebotn

The hairpins down to the fjord head eat 20 percent. Oygardstol first, then a slow destination charge overnight.

  4. Day 6 · Sauda

Ryfylke lakes the colour of steel. Recharge in town; mountain rain on the stalls.

  5. Day 9 · Stavanger

Roldal pass if open, then the last Tesla. The harbour still smells of oil and rain.
