Holiday itinerary

Nine days of southern light: Klagenfurt, Woerthersee, Millstaetter See, Weissensee, the Gailtal. Tesla in Klagenfurt and Villach; this is not the Grossglockner toll road — Heiligenblut is a look, then you turn back to the water.

Season: Lakes year-round. Swimming June-September. Weissensee ice in hard winters. Nearby high alpine roads typically May-October.

    Woerthersee evening. Destination charger; the shore is a walk.

  3. Day 5 · Millstatt

    An abbey by a quieter lake. Charge in Spittal.

  4. Day 7 · Weissensee

    The long pale lake. Overnight destination charge after 23 percent of Gailtal lanes.

  5. Day 9 · Villach

    Last Tesla. The lakes are still in the rear-view.
