Zeekr 9X: Germany debut in Hamburg

Zeekr unveiled the luxury SUV 9X in Germany for the first time a few days ago. The Chinese premium brand, part of Geely, has introduced a new flagship model designed to stand out with its performance, extended range, fast charging capabilities, suspension, technology, and comfort. Pre-orders for this model have been available since July, with the starting price including a comprehensive standard package at 119,500 euros. This marks the fifth Zeekr model in Europe within three years.
Zeekr focuses on tangible luxury with this model: “In the luxury segment, a well-known logo is no longer enough today. Premium customers want to know what a vehicle can actually do and what value it offers,” explains Lothar Schupet, CEO of Zeekr Europe. The Zeekr 9X is the manufacturer’s response: “It combines exceptional performance, intelligent technology, and perfection in detail to create a compelling overall vehicle. European design, a powerful super-hybrid system with 900-volt technology, and outstanding comfort across three rows of seats capture our vision: a new class of luxury,” says Schupet.
Technical Specifications at a Glance
The Zeekr 9X’s electric range is up to 179 kilometers, with a total range of 737 kilometers. Zeekr emphasizes its suitability for daily use and leisure activities: while the short electric range is sufficient for everyday commutes, the range extender—a 2.0-liter turbo engine—provides the flexibility needed. The interaction between these two power sources can be optimized across four energy modes.
The high-voltage battery with 55.1 kilowatt-hours can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 9.5 minutes, with a maximum charging power of 330 kilowatts. This all-wheel-drive electric model features two electric motors, delivering 660 kW (897 horsepower) and a top speed of 240 km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.
The 9X aims to be powerful and spacious, offering a towing capacity of 2 tons and a maximum trunk volume of nearly 2150 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The model features three rows of seating, with two seats in each row, and has a curb weight of 2900 kilograms. With a wheelbase of just under 3.2 meters, the 9X has an overall length of 5.24 meters, making it significantly larger than the mid-size SUV Zeekr 7X.
Safety and Driver Assistance Systems
In terms of safety, Zeekr highlights various aspects including materials and construction. The combination of aluminum in the front section and steel in the rear ensures high stiffness and a balanced weight distribution according to the manufacturer. The high-voltage battery is protected on the sides of the vehicle by a reinforced grid structure, and the fuel tank is also shielded.

To support automated driving assistance systems, the Zeekr 9X is equipped with a lidar sensor on the roof, along with eleven cameras, five radar sensors, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. The data collected is processed by an Nvidia Drive Thor processor.
Interior and Design
The Zeekr 9X achieves sports car performance without the rigidity of a true sports car, according to the press release. Its suspension system, featuring double wishbone axles at the front, multi-link axles at the rear, and a closed adaptive dual-chamber air suspension, ensures a smooth driving experience even on uneven surfaces. To increase ground clearance further, the vehicle’s height can be adjusted by up to 110 millimeters.
The six seating positions are designed for comfort with features such as lounge, rest, and movie modes, offering numerous options including individually adjustable sitting or reclining positions. Seats, climate control, lighting, and entertainment can be adjusted via a removable 6-inch OLED control panel. An additional 17-inch OLED display mounted in the ceiling provides entertainment. The high-end audio system, equipped with over 32 speakers, 40 amplifier channels, and noise cancellation, underscores the brand’s commitment to luxury, as do the eight bass transducers that deliver deep frequencies directly to the seats. According to a press release, music and movie sound are not only audible but also physically felt.

The drivers have a 47-inch augmented-reality head-up display in their field of view, which projects navigation, speed, and other relevant information. Two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processors provide the computing power for displays, user interfaces, and entertainment.
Following the “Powerful Elegance” design philosophy, the model was crafted at Zeekr’s European Design Center in Gothenburg, featuring clean surfaces and balanced proportions. According to the press release, the maritime setting of the Germany debut at the Cruise Center Baakenhöft in Hamburg echoed the design language of the Zeekr 9X. The latter drew inspiration from motor yachts, modern architecture, and interior design. As a result, the interior is equipped with Nordic wood and Nappa leather, along with a polished rotary knob made of K9 crystal glass on the center console. Three different paint finishes are available.
