The French brand Renault has introduced a comprehensive set of upgrades for its popular electric models – the passenger car Renault Kangoo E-Tech and the van version Kangoo VAN. The manufacturer has significantly improved range, accelerated charging speeds at stations, and expanded the range of available powertrains.

The exterior design of the commercial vehicles has retained its familiar shapes, but the interior has undergone significant digital transformation. A new 10-inch display for the OpenR Link multimedia system is now featured on the dashboard, offering improved image quality and a more responsive touch interface.

The interior space of both the cargo and passenger versions has also been equipped with new features that simplify operating the electric vehicle in urban conditions. Specifically, special controls on the steering column allow the driver to manually select one of four available levels of regenerative braking intensity in real time.

The electric vehicles are equipped with a new NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) lithium-ion battery pack with a useful capacity of 52 kWh, which increases the maximum range per charge to 354 km under the European WLTP cycle. Engineers have also upgraded the charging system’s power architecture: the maximum DC charging capacity has been raised from 80 kW to 100 kW, allowing the battery to be charged enough for a 240 km drive in just 30 minutes. Additionally, two more powerful electric motors have been developed for this model—the base version delivers 135 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, while the flagship version offers 155 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.

The official retail prices for the updated electric versions will be announced in the coming weeks, with sales starting in the European market by the end of this year.
