Renault has upgraded its electric crossover, the Scenic E-Tech.
The French automaker Renault has refreshed the family electric crossover Scenic E-Tech three years after its debut. The vehicle draws on some of the advanced engineering solutions, electronic systems, and new powertrain components from the recently updated smaller hatchback, the Megane E-Tech.
The exterior design of this eco-friendly SUV retains its original geometry, as designers opted to delay a major facelift to the front end for later stages of its lifecycle. The visual changes are limited to glossy black trim on the decorative inserts on the front and rear bumpers, the introduction of new alloy wheel designs in 19 and 20 inch diameters, and an expansion of the body color palette with new premium shades such as Satin Blue Slate and Exo Galaxy Grey.
The interior of the Techno model features eco-friendly upholstery made from PET fibers, 95% of which are recycled yarn. The Esprit Alpine version comes with a titanium-effect finish, while the top-tier Iconic model is adorned with panels made from natural light birch wood. The openR link infotainment system was the first in its class to integrate Google Gemini artificial intelligence, completely replacing the previous Google Assistant voice assistant. The cabin is also equipped with a new wireless magnetic charging pad for devices, along with a built-in ventilation and cooling system.
The key technical upgrades are hidden under the hood of the CMF-EV platform. The base Comfort Range model features a new lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 67 kWh, working in tandem with the existing 220 horsepower electric motor on the front axle. Thanks to the shift to a cell-to-pack architecture, this version’s range increased by 37 km under the European WLTP standard, reaching 467 km. Additionally, energy recovery at 165 kW DC fast charging stations improved by 25%—it now takes only 24 minutes to charge from 15% to 80%. The higher-end Long Range version retained the lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, but its capacity was increased to 89 kWh, enabling a record-breaking range of 642 km per charge.
Mass production of the vehicle continues at ElectriCity’s factory in Douai, France. Orders for the new model are now available in France at a starting price of 31,750 euros.

The rebranding of the historic Scenic name, which originally belonged to a classic line of compact cars with internal combustion engines, reflects the French conglomerate’s new global strategy to fully transition toward eco-friendly vehicles. The original 1996 Renault Scenic single-engine model created a new European class of family cars and won the prestigious title of “Car of the Year in Europe.”
The complete transition of the modern Scenic E-Tech line to a pure electric architecture and CMF-EV platform allowed designers to fully retain the iconic minivan qualities: despite its sporty crossover silhouette, the vehicle offers a completely flat cabin floor, a low loading threshold for the trunk, and an enormous number of hidden compartments for small items. The integration of advanced ADAS safety assistants, including a Multi Target system for 3D tracking of surrounding traffic and an Emergency Stop Assist that intervenes if the driver loses consciousness, enabled this model to confidently achieve the highest five-star rating in rigorous Euro NCAP crash tests.
