Introducing the Skyworth line of intelligent electric vehicles

At the recent IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition in Hanover, Chinese company Skyworth Auto showcased five intelligent electric vehicles for various transportation purposes.
Let’s start with the world premiere – the Z9 heavy haul truck. This vehicle, featuring a fairly aerodynamic cab, is equipped with batteries with a capacity of 400 kWh, providing the motortrain with a range of up to 300 km. The truck also boasts level 4 autonomous driving capabilities. Thanks to the advanced “vehicle-cloud” technology, one operator can control as many as 18 such motortrains simultaneously.

For urban transportation, two lightweight electric trucks were presented – the Hongtu V9 van and the Hongtu X chassis with cab. These vehicles have a load capacity of up to 2340 kg, a range of 200 km per day, are equipped with ADAS driver assistance systems, and can save up to 8000 euros in fuel costs annually.

The electric garbage truck G18, equipped with L4 level autonomous driving, deserves attention. It features a 15.3-cubic-meter bin whose filling level can be monitored via a display – the first time this has been available in its class. It also uses a dual sealing system for waste.
The cabin with a flat floor and low entry point, featuring an interior height of 1.9 meters, is worth noting. The garbage truck is equipped with SATL LFP batteries with a capacity of 231 kWh. The average power consumption is only 1.1 kWh per kilometer traveled.

The compact urban electric bus, Urban Elf Robobus, was also on display. It features level 4 autonomous driving, with lidars, cameras, and millimeter-wave radars installed around the vehicle’s perimeter. The bus has a turning radius of just 6.8 meters. It can accommodate 19 passengers. The area of the low floor (340 mm) is 5.1 square meters.
Skyworth Auto stated that during the exhibition, contracts were signed for over 1000 electric vehicles with clients from Europe, Latin America, Central Asia, and other overseas markets.
