Polestar 4 SUV goes official with expanded versatility and uncompromised performance

Polestar has expanded its electric performance lineup with the debut of the Polestar 4 SUV, a more versatile and utility‑focused counterpart to the Polestar 4 coupé. The new model enters the compact executive SUV segment with a clear mission: deliver greater space, practicality and everyday usability without compromising the design language, technology suite or driving dynamics that have defined Polestar's most successful vehicle to date. The model is available in three variants:

Polestar 4 SUV Rear Motor specifications

Polestar 4 SUV Dual Motor specifications

Polestar 4 SUV Performance specifications

The Polestar 4 SUV adopts the coupé's sleek, award‑winning aesthetic but reshapes the rear to create a straighter roofline, upright tailgate and significantly expanded cargo area. The result is up to 1,665 litres of luggage capacity with the rear seats folded, alongside full‑length roof rails rated for 100 kg of dynamic load. An expanded eight‑colour palette introduces new Aurora and Ozone finishes, each available in Matte, reinforcing the SUV's more assertive stance.

Inside, the cabin mirrors the minimalist, tech‑centric environment of the coupé, enhanced with cosmic‑themed ambient lighting and Polestar's Star Knit décor. A larger panoramic glass roof stretches all the way to the tailgate, increasing brightness and headroom - now 2.5 cm more for second‑row passengers. The SUV also reintroduces a conventional rear window and mirror, while retaining the option for a digital rear‑view mirror. Sustainability remains central: MicroTech upholstery uses recycled PET, Tailored Knit is made from 89% recycled PET waste, and Nappa leather is fully traceable and chrome‑free.

The digital experience is anchored by Polestar's landscape‑oriented centre display, now offering nine widget shortcuts for faster access. A Harman Kardon 12‑speaker, 1,400W sound system is available, tuned specifically for the SUV. Google Gemini replaces traditional voice commands with contextual, conversational AI, enabling natural interactions, trip planning and hands‑free productivity through Gemini Live.

Performance mirrors the coupé's sharpened dynamics. The Dual motor AWD variant produces 400 kW and 686 Nm, reaching 0–62 mph in 3.9 seconds with up to 373 miles WLTP range. The Rear motor version delivers 200 kW and 343 Nm, offering up to 391 miles of range. A 100 kWh battery supports 200 kW DC and 22 kW AC charging. The optional Performance pack adds recalibrated ZF active dampers, Brembo brakes in Swedish gold, and new 22‑inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Utility receives a major boost through Vehicle‑to‑Load (V2L), enabling the SUV to power external devices up to 3.3 kW. A new Camping mode transforms the parked vehicle into a climate‑controlled lounge with entertainment access, ambient lighting, and full control from both displays - supported by V2L, USB‑C ports, and a 12V outlet.

Polestar also highlights sustainability achievements: the SUV records one of the lowest carbon footprints in the brand's lineup - 21.1 tCO₂e for Dual motor and 20.2 tCO₂e for Rear motor variants - thanks to renewable‑powered battery production, low‑carbon aluminium sourcing and increased recycled materials.

Pricing begins at £54,750 for the Rear motor model, £60,750 for Dual motor, and £68,250 for the Performance pack. Production is underway in Busan, South Korea, with first customer deliveries scheduled for Q4 2026.
