Nissan's new generation budget electric vehicle Pixo

The Japanese automaker Nissan officially unveiled the entirely new compact electric vehicle Nissan Pixo, designed specifically for European cities. This launch marked the brand’s return to Europe’s A-segment of small urban vehicles.
The exterior design of the new Nissan Pixo features a modern urban style with compact dimensions. The vehicle’s length is 3796 mm, while the wheelbase measures 2492 mm. Despite its small size, thanks to a height of 1512 mm and thoughtful layout, engineers managed to provide a substantial trunk space: 356 liters in normal condition and up to 1221 liters when the second-row seats are folded down.
The interior is equipped with a modern multimedia system based on Google, featuring built-in artificial intelligence Gemini, as well as the proprietary MyNissan app for remote control of charging and route planning.
The vehicle is equipped with an electric motor producing 81 hp/60 kW and a lithium-iron-phosphate battery (LFP) with a capacity of 27.5 kWh. This is the first time cheaper and more durable LFP batteries have been used in European models of a Japanese brand. The WLTP standard gives it a range of 259 km.
The standard equipment includes the e-Pedal one-pedal driving system, an onboard 11 kW AC charger with two-way charging support, and a 50 kW DC fast charging system that can restore 15% to 80% of the battery’s charge in 28 minutes.
Orders are set to open and official prices will be announced in December of this year, with the first actual vehicles reaching European customers at the beginning of 2027.

The historical Pixo badge first appeared in Nissan’s European lineup in 2009, but that initial model was not an independently developed vehicle – it was a licensed copy of the budget Indian hatchback Suzuki Alto with a 1-liter gasoline engine.
The return of the name in 2026 for an eco-friendly electric car marks a completely new stage in industrial cooperation within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. The new vehicle was designed by Nissan’s designers, but it is based on an architecture developed jointly with the French company, with mass production taking place at Renault’s modernized factory in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
