The Ukrainian automotive market is showing rapid and steady growth in the segment of eco-friendly vehicles with hybrid powertrains. According to official data from the “Ukravtoprom” association, nearly 3,900 hybrid passenger cars (including hybrid-electric vehicles HEV and plug-in hybrids PHEV) were added to the domestic fleet last month. This figure is 38% higher than that of the same period last year. Meanwhile, the sales structure has shifted significantly toward second-hand imports: fully new cars accounted for 42% of sales, compared to 56% in August of last year.

In the initial commercial segment of new hybrid vehicles, Japanese company Toyota holds absolute and complete dominance, capturing all three top spots in consumer preferences. The undisputed market leader remains the compact crossover Toyota RAV4, with 430 units registered. The second position is firmly held by the urban crossover Toyota Yaris Cross (153 units), while the third place goes to the classic premium business sedan Toyota Camry, with 133 units sold.

In the secondary market for imported used cars, representatives of the American auto industry took the lead. The Ford Fusion sedan topped the list of leaders, with its dealers managing to deliver 138 used vehicles to customers. The Ford Escape family crossover came in second with 129 units, while the practical Korean eco-friendly SUV, the Kia Niro, rounded out the top group with 121 registrations.
