A unique Renault vehicle was spotted on the roads of Cherkasy region.

This two-seater Renault Twizy electric vehicle is classified as a quadricycle in some European countries, allowing drivers to obtain a license at just 14 years old. In Ukraine, it is considered a standard automobile, and it was recently photographed by a reporter from “AvtoCenter” in one of the settlements in Cherkasy region.

The vehicle stands out due to its unusual egg-shaped body with guillotine-style lift doors. Its dimensions are also impressive: the length is only 2.32 meters, the width is 1.19 meters (with the passenger sitting behind the driver), and the height is 1.46 meters. The vehicle weighs just 474 kg.

The electric motor is located at the rear and operates in conjunction with an automatic transmission. The drive wheels are at the back. The Renault Twizy is available in two power versions – 4 kW and 13 kW. The top speed, of course, differs significantly, at 45 km/h and 80 km/h respectively. In both cases, the same lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 6.1 kWh are used. The range reaches up to 100 km, although it drops to around 50 km with an aggressive driving style.

The Renault Twizy, first introduced in 2009 as a concept car, went into series production in April 2012. Manufacturing took place at a plant in Valladolid, Spain. By 2015, 15,000 units had been produced. Interestingly, production was moved to South Korea, specifically the city of Busan, in 2019. The Twizy was produced on the assembly line until September 2023.

Initially, this electric car was sold for only 6,990 euros. The issue was that its price did not include the cost of the batteries, which had to be rented for 50 euros per month. However, later the car began to be sold as a complete package—starting at 10,300 euros. The Renault Twizy is very rare in Ukraine.
