Jaguar has unveiled the revolutionary electric car Type 01

The British brand Jaguar has opened a new chapter in its long history by holding the world premiere of its most ambitious vehicle in New York. It is the radical four-door electric car Jaguar Type 01, developed based on last year’s Type 00 concept. The launch of this model marks the company’s complete shift away from competing with the German mass-market “big three” (BMW, Audi, Mercedes) to enter the higher-end luxury segment, where it aims to directly compete with the luxurious models of Bentley and Porsche.

The exterior of the production electric car features a bold minimalist design with a high shoulder line and low roof. The designers completely eliminated the traditional radiator grille and rear window. The vehicle comes with solid door handles, massive multi-spoke wheels, and a panoramic glass roof.

The interior surprises with the complete absence of typical large touchscreens in the center of the dashboard. Instead, a horizontal 24-inch digital screen stretches across the driver’s side, displaying instruments and navigation information. A small 7-inch vertical touchscreen is mounted on the center console for climate control, while the audio system features 38 speakers. A ClearSight screen is installed on the dashboard in place of a rearview mirror.
