EVSearch reports surging Canadian demand for Chinese EVs
Chinese EVs are headed for Canada. The country has set an initial annual quota of 49,000 Chinese-made EVs, and this will increase to 70,000 within five years. A share of the quota is reserved for vehicles priced below CA$35,000. EVSearch, a Canadian electric vehicle research and discovery platform, has added a new section to its site dedicated to Chinese EVs. Since its quiet beta launch, the Chinese EV Discovery Center has logged over 25,000 users and 130,000 page views, making it the platform’s fastest-growing research category. EVSearch’s information hub includes a virtual showroom of EV and PHEV models available in Canada, an EV Charging Cost Calculator and a Battery Health Estimator for pre-owned EVs. The Chinese EV Discovery Center provides vehicle specifications, estimated Canadian pricing, reviews and model comparisons. “Our data proves that Canadians are actively vetting these vehicles well before they arrive in local showrooms,” said Behzad Mohajer, founder and CEO of EVSearch. “As major global manufacturers confirm Canadian launch timelines for late 2026, consumers are seeking independent information to compare their options.” Source: EVSearch
