Curonian Spit and the hill of crosses

Eleven days from Vilnius to Trakai island castle, Kaunas old town, Klaipeda sea gate, the UNESCO dunes of the Curonian Spit and Nida, Palanga pier light, then the Hill of Crosses near Siauliai and back to the capital. Day 1

Vilnius

Baroque Old Town and Uzupis hold the first evening: church domes above the courtyards, the Gate of Dawn, and the river bend under the castle hill. Walk the lanes toward the cathedral square and the quiet bridges at dusk. Overnight Tesla or Ignitis ON near the centre.

Day 2

Trakai

Island castle on the lake: red brick towers reflected in still water, wooden jetties, and a short walk around the peninsula forests. Stop at the lakeside pull-offs for the classic view, then linger for late light on the walls. Charge after about 22 percent before Kaunas.

Day 3

Kaunas

Old town and Liberty Avenue: the confluence of Neris and Nemunas, town-hall square, and long boulevard cafes under the trees. Climb or drive to the hillside viewpoints for the river fork panorama. Overnight Ignitis ON or Eleport in the city.

Day 5

Klaipeda

Theatre square and the sea gate: half-timber lanes of the old town, the harbour light, and the ferry toward the spit. Walk the promenade before crossing; book overnight charge and arrive cool for the dune road. Overnight Tesla or Ignitis ON.

Day 6

Nida

Curonian Spit UNESCO dunes and fishermen houses: the Parnidis dune ridge above the pines, amber-coloured evening on the lagoon, and quiet streets of wooden villas. Pull off at forest clearings and the dune trailheads; cool the battery and stay in daylight on the spit road. Overnight Eleport if bookable.

Day 7

Nida

Second spit morning for Parnidis and the lagoon shore: climb the dune for the open Baltic and lagoon views, then drift through the fishermen lanes and coastal pull-offs north toward Juodkrante if time allows. Charge before leaving the spit.

Day 8

Palanga

Pier and sunset on the open Baltic: long beach, botanical garden pines, and the wooden pier that fills at golden hour. Walk the sand and the quiet park paths after the spit ferry return. Overnight Ignitis ON or hotel wallbox.

Day 9

Siauliai

Hill of Crosses pilgrimage landscape north of town: thousands of crosses on the rise, wind in the fields, and a quiet approach road with pull-offs for the first view. Give the site unhurried time, then overnight in Siauliai with Eleport or Ignitis ON.

Day 11

Vilnius

Last evening under the Old Town domes. Spit dune light and pier sunset are still in the rear-view; a final Tesla closes the loop.
