The German luxury car manufacturer Audi AG held its first major presentation of its new compact electric vehicle, the Audi A2 e-tron, at the Paris Motor Show. This electric hatchback was officially recognized as the most efficient vehicle in the company’s entire history. Thanks to significant optimization of internal engineering development processes, the brand was able to fully prepare the platform for mass production 21 months earlier than with previous similar models from the group.
The exterior design of the new model represents a modern interpretation of the philosophy behind the original Audi A2 from the early 2000s, where low weight, practical cabin space, and excellent aerodynamic performance were key priorities. The electric car’s body features a sleek five-door silhouette with an extremely low frontal aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.24. The five-seater interior is designed specifically for the daily needs of urban Europeans, combining an advanced digital multimedia ecosystem with wireless connectivity features, an ergonomic layout, and an integrated two-way charging function that allows the battery to power external household appliances.

The technical specifications of this compact hatchback are entirely focused on maximizing energy efficiency. The model is equipped with a single electric motor producing 170 kW, equivalent to 231 horsepower. The brand’s engineers have managed to achieve a record-low energy consumption rate of just 12.8 kWh per 100 km in the combined cycle according to the European WLTP testing standard. The battery pack, located under the cabin floor, ensures a maximum driving range of up to 646 km on a single charge. The full development and mass production of this new model take place at Audi’s main factory in Ingolstadt, Germany. https://youtu.be/lFvmsbCCo0s
Official orders are already open in the European market, with the first delivery cars reaching European customers in December 2026 at an initial price of 38,200 euros in Germany.
