The Audi A6 e-tron set a new absolute record for range.

The German luxury liftback, Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance, has become the new world champion for range per battery charge. During a special test drive in Poland, the vehicle covered a record distance of 1338 km. This impressive result allowed the German brand to significantly outperform the American luxury sedan, Lucid Air Grand Touring, which made it to the Guinness Book of Records in 2025 with a range of 1205 km.
The driver of the electric car during this record-breaking marathon was the famous Polish rally champion, Miko Marczyk. The route started in the resort town of Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains, where numerous descents allowed for effective use of the energy recovery system during braking. From there, the route passed through Kraków, Warsaw, and Toruń all the way to the Baltic Sea coast. The race took place on regular roads used by the public amidst real traffic, with the driver facing significant urban congestion during morning and evening hours. When the battery was completely drained, the onboard computer recorded an average energy consumption of only 7.09 kWh per 100 kilometers traveled.
The appearance of this record-breaking version is identical to that of the standard production A6 Sportback e-tron. The key to such long range lies in the flawless aerodynamics of its streamlined body.
The car’s interior retains all elements of luxury and comfort, including digital monitors and climate control.
The performance sedan features one electric motor mounted at the rear with 367 horsepower/270 kW, along with a lithium-ion battery holding 95 kWh of energy. The WLTP range for this version is between 681 and 776 km, but the driver’s rally experience and precise software adjustments have allowed this figure to be nearly doubled.

Miko Marchik’s achievement is unique in that he now holds the world record in two categories simultaneously — internal combustion engine vehicles and electric cars. In 2025, this same driver set a world record for the longest distance traveled on a single tank of fuel, covering 2831 km while driving a diesel Skoda Superb with an average fuel consumption of just 2.6 liters per 100 km.
